I'm stuck at some spots:

What do I need to do to get past "The Beacon of Assembly"?

There are 0 hints. You need to put 6 items in 5 slots and there are different quantities you can use for each item, plus you can use items more than 1 slot.

Mathematically... I don't want to mess with that.

How do I get a "Salvage Drone" to salvage the automation fields?

How the hell do I beat "The Assembler"?

I have the "Dark Mirage", and "Wails of Infinite" super weapons & shields. Fully upgraded with 6 under-verse effectors. I have plenty of both Armageddon Cores & Collapsar torpedoes. My hull is all underverse plating.

Theoretically I have the best ship & weapons possible, but it only says I got a 5% chance and it takes no damage even from the best weapons.

Have fun on the bridge one more time with Vee then you will automatically ask her to train T'Ris, and you can then have fun with T on the bridge when she is alone (I don't think you can do that while Vee is there).

Some hints that might be helpful.

The order of elements is indicated when you empty the box on the wall to the right. It's exactly that order and exactly those elements. If you took them out without realizing it, you can look in the walkthrough, there is a list of the solution.

Regarding the assembler, it cannot be defeated. Purpose of this encounter is to get the loot from the assemblers drones. Fight it as long as you can and take as much loot as you can.

Salvage drones you can buy at xenos station, later you can also replicate them at the beacon of assembly replicator station.

As to coming beacons, in every beacon room there is a hint as to the solution of the challenge.

And, by similar, I mean (giving a few "negative" examples from games I've been trying, lately, to fulfill that "itch") space adventures where there is actual gameplay throughout the game (there was one highly-recommended game I tried, recently, that I played for a full half-hour, and the only "game" element was entering the main character's name; there was supposed to be actual gameplay in it, but it sure as hell didn't look like it) and which isn't a deliberately miserable slog-fest that ends with everyone dying or suffering other horrible fates.

I found a bug where even though I have nanos, the bot part repair function says only have 20% nano left and wont fix the part.

strange, each pod should be able to reach for 5 pieces, that 20% should be enough, do you have remaining pods to recharge? may try to sell them, and buy new ones?

the only case it doesn't let me repair is when percentage is above my tech skill (lvl10 is needed for 100%), maybe try another piece

I do remember seeing that post (though I thought it was more than one page ago). At least one of those (Isis: The Fall) was one of the ones I gave as a bad example, as I got a half hour into it and encountered no actual gameplay, and another (Last Hope) I couldn't get to run on my system. Can't remember if I tried the other two or not; I've run through a bunch, lately, and been encountering the same issues (no actual gameplay, depressing storyline, and technical issues) with most of them.

TypeX is the Galaxina shield. You can find it in Iltari after you kill some Krell pirates. Once you have it, you have two options:
1) you can return it for a hefty prize, or
2) you can ask Nimhe to unlock it, and then use it in your own bots. Warning: re-locking it later costs you an elite AI core.
In the final system you can find a replicator, so you can make copies of this shell, re-lock one, and return to get the prize.

You need to drink the beverage. Go to your cabin with the appropriate liquor bottle in your inventory. Click on the glass on the desk.

How do you use salvage drones? I though I was probably supposed to put them in the Launcher, but it won't accept them and neither will any of the other subsystems.

Scratch that. You use them through the menu that comes up for the Automaton fields, not in a subsystem.

Well, the discovery of a portal in an old archaeological site on an obscure moon with entitities coming through from the underverse is a trope I had to do...

Once combat has started (you see the hex combat map) you can enter the following in the command line:

hexCanvas.ownShip.shields = 5000

(which temporarily increases your equipped shield strength by 50x and makes you invincible...)

But it takes most of the fun out of combat... so I recommend emergency use only

It is not persistent, the next combat you do you have to do it again

Or if someone wants to entirely skip combat and finish it fast they could use hexCanvas.ownShip.ap = 100
also something not related to combat spSys.ap = 20 this is the action points used in discipline which I don't recommend using it, Idk how this will affect your game only the first one I wrote is safe. ^
