Pretty sure that's the result of patreon polls.
Obviously the people being the loudest don't necessarily represent the majority, but you can hardly blame devs for giving their paying customers what they want.

Don't get me wrong, gay content does nothing for me, but it's not like there's a lack of alternatives for straight players.

Thanks for the report, mate - I’ll have a thorough dig around and figure out what might be happening in the walkthrough. Yes - the stable and psycho only work in a running game. I think the issue you’re having with the ’override’ might be a click-through, so hopefully an easy fix

You'd think someone would have mixed genres by now, but to me it seems the "gay" tag is just m/m (to be honest, I have no interest in the genre, so I've never delved too deep into it). There doesn't seem to be gay NTR, incest, harem or anything other than romance (like gay dudes don't want to bang every guy in sight). I'm not saying every game should be m/m now (I still want to play games, obviously), but there has to be a hole in the market there.

As for other fetishes, they may be underserved because the target audience is smaller. I don't know the exact numbers when it comes gay and bi versus straight players but I imagine it's only a fraction.
Very few games try to appeal to all sexual orientations equally (and even fewer succeed), so it makes sense to keep it more vanilla. Otherwise you might end up only attracting a fraction of a fraction of the potential player base.

To be honest, I've always found incest games to be, well, lazy. You could easily replace the sister with the girl next door, but then you'd have to have two locations, lesser opportunities to interact, better structured story, so let's scrap all that and go for the sister because that's an easier target that requires less effort to create. Face it, most incest games just have one house where all the action takes place (Big Brother anyone?).

ps: I wouldn't consider this game here as vanilla.

I actually can name one: The retreat. Roughly 50%/50% straight and gay. And, it's a finished game

And, all things considered, it was actually pretty good considering it was able to cobble together an interesting narrative while exclusively using real or 'real porn' gifs and pics...I think...you're little side-kick who was trying to corrupt you may have been hand drawn or something. And it could end a number of different ways depending on player choice.

Lesbians have way less choices than gays tbh (yes, there are plenty of lesbian scenes in str8 games, but I wouldn't consider those fully, considering it's basically oriented towards a str8 fetish -might be good for a good fingering, but I kind of guess they'd like more )

However, except some of the aforementioned holes in specific fetishes, there is a decent amount of gay games covering a good array of approaches from very romance/dating sim-oriented (e.g. the famous one with the daddies) to romance-with-sex (Coming out on top, Yearning a gay story) to almost pure sex (e.g. Full service) and more fetish-y ones (Naked Butler, Beyond Eden...). You can get both yaoi and bara (also in their western declinations). So yes, smaller pool, but not a totally dire situation. I agree that we miss some (hard to say which ones are the least represented -maybe harem? NTR among gay couples?)

And some well written games even manage to propose an 'equal representation' between str8 and gay content, like Spacecorps here, or Hornstown, just to mention a couple. I think the difficulty here is that, if there's only one writer, it's not easy to write believable and well put-together storylines for a sexual orientation you don't belong to.

It does cut down the potential player base - but I could never see myself making a vanilla game The road to success is almost certainly a vanilla game that adds an incest option and one other somewhat popular kink - but most adult games aren't made with much of an eye to that (mainly being passion projects made by perverted insomniacs who've exhausted all other porn on the net )

From what I've seen, when writers try and insert m/m just to expand the player base, it generally comes across as a bit cynical and bolted-on - and usually they often get criticism from both the targeted m/m players and the f/m players who feel robbed of that precious update time. I think devs are best off only including what they like themselves (although it's then worth listening to patrons and players re the amount of each kink, character or storyline to be included).

I'll need to go back and play the remastered scenes but just played through the last part with Cici the humour in this game as always to perfection it's like a work of art everything to what went down in that scene to the background music used was just perfect. I can't wait to see how the next part goes and how Cici will now react to the MC being in her mind.
