There can be some fairly ample variation on who can be classified as a trap (usual to happen in asian stories from where the genre originated). Hanzi for instance can look quite androgynous in some shots, specially when clothed.

In my mind a "trap" is someone who looks the opposite of their sex. Hence it being a trap, something you got fooled by. Androgynous doesn't fall in there, because they make you question which sex they might be.

But being a trap or androgynous aren't mutually exclusive. On the contrary having both masculine and feminine traits would likely make someone a "better" trap. A good example of this would be Mackenzie Davis, who starred Terminator Dark fate.
