Hey! Sorry about that — sometimes the key (and other items) might not spawn correctly if an older save is used after an update.Unreal Engine Bugcant for the life of me find the key. wasted 20 minutes looking ""near the car outside"". oh well, must be a glitch for me
i'll give it another try, thank you for the heads up. gonna wait a while due to bg3 taking up more space from a update. Your game looks very promising though!Hey! Could you try starting a new game? That usually fixes it!
Thanks for playing — and let us know if the issue keeps happening
near the exit gate, i recognize the pathway in frame of the picWhere can I find that tree?
Thanks for the detailed feedback!
- Seems that zombies no longer respawn in the forest (they were on previous version, very fast at that), which quickly leaves you with nothing to do.
- Is there a reason why vending machine suddenly disappears at some point? It's possible that it happened after loading a save (I had to do that when I got stuck after being beaten by big zombie, due the scene not triggering at first, but me being unable to leave, either).
- Is it possible to lockpick the door near the vending machine's location? I broke several lockpicks in a row, to no avail, while every other door opened on first try, which makes me assume that it's not supposed to be openable for now.
I feel that weaker zombies can have their spawn rate increased. To still give the player some breathing room, consider making it so they have certain spawn points in various parts of the map, but have their spawn rate drastically reduced (roughly like it's now) while you're within that zone yourself (as drag-and-drop inventory is rather awkward). That way, zombies will spawn in zones you already cleared, but didn't visit for some time. In previous version, it was very common for zombies to drop right on top of you.Zombies do respawn, but now more slowly — and usually after you leave and return to the forest zone. It’s part of the new balancing system to give players a break between encounters (and help with performance).
On related note: is it intentional that the vending machine was completely empty when I interacted with it? In previous version, it was where I could buy the gun, letting me to practice this game's shooting mechanic, and see if it actually works or not.The vending machine disappearing is a bug that can sometimes happen after loading a save — especially if it was made during a scene that failed to trigger. We’re looking into this and hope to fix it soon!
You're absolutely right on multiple points — and we're already planning to address most of this in v1.1.0.I feel that weaker zombies can have their spawn rate increased. Also, feedback on inventory.
- Currently it's all but impossible to see stack numbers on most items in inventory. White numbers can't be seen on bottle of bleach, for example.
- For some reason, soup doesn't fill up your hunger meter, despite game saying that it does (at least, it was stating that in previous version, I forgot to check in this one). This makes it only usable as water source.
- I think, it's better to increase stack limit for water bottles, to at least 5.
We’re doing our best — sometimes we just don’t have time to finish everything the way we want right away. But we really want to bring joy to people who are curious, excited, and eager to explore and "feel" the game.I feel that weaker zombies can have their spawn rate increased. I feel like having them not respawn till a reentering is a good idea. but a "alerting the horde" could also add a nice twist to it. breathing room is a must in these types of games but so is having something to keep the player on their toes. and by horde i mean maybe spawning a few extra zombies, not a literal army for the sake of the engine not explodingYou're absolutely right on multiple points — and we're already planning to address most of this in v1.1.0.
So far, we’ve focused on expanding content: more zombies, more weapons, bigger maps, etc. But now that the base is broader, we’re shifting our attention toward balancing the gameplay experience — especially things like:
- Smarter zombie spawn logic (with better pacing and breathing room)
- Inventory readability (yes, those white numbers are basically invisible on some items — we know )
- Fixing food behavior (soup will feed you again!)
- Increasing water stack sizes
- And yes — the vending machine will return, with a proper role and working items.
We really appreciate thoughtful comments like this — they help us improve in the right directions. v1.1.0 will be a more polished and balanced experience.
Thanks again!
