This depends on whether or not the previous version's save is compatible, for example if you want to keep your save from the previous version and use it in the newest version, this can be possible for some games, and I have used a previous version's save for one game I played, can't remember the name of it though, but it worked great after simply putting the previous save into the saves folder of the game directory.

Like I did. Find her in the kitchen, talk to her and get the quest. Then take the clothes from her room (there is underwear in the nightstand by the door). Knock on the sisters' rooms and also take the underwear. Put it in the washing machine in the basement, report to Missy. After that you can go down to the basement one more time and see the shitty animated scene.

Do the quest with the plant, it seems to be in the "brothers" branch of Mario and Luigi.
