is there a way to disable just the tap sound? because it really messes up the timing when you calibrate your taps to match the beat exactly.

lmao this is one of the best, the simple beats and timing mean you can fap to the beat while playing it. the changes can really get you in a mood, and if you just suck you dont need SS to stack buffs.
easy tip is to start with revive get and autoclicker to kill yourself before any beats start and easy clear the level with 5 buffs, SS doesnt care if you miss a bit only that you max your combo. Kinda weird design since you can just ignore difficult mods to guarantee the SS.
Yu & Mei's long button chain felt like it changes tempo slightly during the middle (faster) and end (slower) or am I just that bad?
Edit: Ok, I think it gets slightly faster the further the chain goes hence why I kept messing up my notes

Edit3: I'm seeing alot of glass strats here but I cant seem to consistently get perfect on the long chain even with those on, honestly not sure what im doing wrong here

The change in note frequency tends to fuck me up too. I also throw off my own rhythm mid-chain when I'm swapping between the sisters.
so Im not the only one then, I notice that the rhythm changes slightly when switching between them too
finally cleared the stage (no s/ss rip) by buying seer on free choice, 2 stamina and a blessing. after gaining stamina just focus on stacking blessing and then going for whatever modifier you think will help you most (i usually go for needle at this stage, glass is too much risk for me)

Once you get 3 glass going, it's really hard to mess up. I usually choose needle too to lessen the amount of clicks, but I'm not counting on me tapping 200+ times perfectly. The way I did it was I'd stack up on Yu's meter in the initial slow part and grind the fast with Mei. Once you clear the first curse debuff on Yu's side, you can bring it just under the curse and grind Mei for a while without issue.
Check your calibration, the song plays the same tempo/bpm throughout as long as you don't trigger one of yu's debuffs. The real challenge of the song is that unlike every other song, the pattern of the notes isn't consistent so while the BPM is the same, the number of notes and frequency you're expected to hit changes by the pattern.
If your calibration is good I would generally encourage critical or needle as your good luck charm freebie, but there is also strats around glass or even ritual, since Yu x Mei is the only song where ritual can only give you beneficial buffs. Theres also a cheese strat using retribution, where you take retribution as your freebie and then intentionally fail by spamming the beat key before the first note can line up, which grants you a couple free powerups. As long as you don't actually miss a note this won't interfere with a SS perfect run.
Personally I go for crit + needle for my first ones until you max out crit (with 8 cats eyes) and 5-8 needles so that you can quickly make Mei cum.
sorry if I sound ignorant but what do you mean by calibration? is there a setting option i'm missing? also, thanks for the tips, I think it's interesting take on h-game mechanic to have rhythm gameplay and powerups that allows player to have alot of option to win a stage. don't know how you can "improve" this gameplay since I haven't touch a rhythm game in so long but im interested to see where the dev go with next

managed to get SS! another tip that i could add is putting the "switch" button the same as your pause button. help me catch a breather couple of times

I finally managed to get all SS on the openers , (also bought the game on steam, it's pretty cheap and help support the creator making another banger)

Came here because the game is feature in Steam rhythm Fest for 30% off. Also Steam seem to have a version 1.02 release march this year. It seem to only an additional language added (traditional Chinese).
