After getting a 1.0, I really have to say after playing earlier versions years ago, the writing and relationships in this game are a huge letdown. Corruption and NTR games can usually get a pass if the writing and H scenes are good but I feel like this game failed miserably at that. This game has so much set up and feels like it has no pay off. I think by far the biggest disappointments are John and Richard in this respect. I gave this game the benefit of the doubt since it was in development and I gave it an initial review 3 years ago and it's painful that none of it got any better even on its completion.
John is by far the biggest disappointment. He has everything set up for him to be a competing male character for Aura and yet he's just given one off scenes that are completely disconnected from their relationship and never mentioned again. Just keep sitting there with the exact same dialogue options for the entire game. No big deal. He gets like one scene that seems like it's gonna set up the rest of their relationship at the start with his first training scene and then it's never pursued any further and he only gets scenes that require you to intentionally get them both drugged by failing at game mechanics. And what's the follow up to this? Nothing. What happened to the guy that was groping her tits and grinding on her in the middle of training? They just move on like it never happened and straight back to zero character progression npc mode.
Richard is interested in Aura and yet its only after she's mindcontrolled into being a shallow idiot that has absolutely nothing in common with who she was at the start of the game that he actually pursues her? From the IRL corruption scenes where Aura loses her interest in game development, it would suggest that Richard has a degree of respect for Aura if only as a rival. He also goes on about how people are just meat and doesn't respect them so it's only through Aura's intellect and ability that she is above them in his eyes yet Richard has nothing to say about Alicia corrupting Aura into being the same petty moron that she is. How is this consistent with his world view or why he would be interested in Aura? This isn't even mentioning that he's pretty much entirely absent from the game for a huge portion of the game.
So the main antagonist and someone that should've been one of your closest allies border on nonexistent in terms of her corruption. Hermann somehow gets more progression than John but even his writing is awful. Going from a few kisses and pretending to agree with his incel views straight into marrying him? Roland is the only character that gets a more natural progression of a corrupting relationship where Aura's boundaries are continuously pushed but you wind up killing him so there goes that.
And this isn't even mentioning the IRL scenes that are supposed to run parallel to the fantasy world. Does no one in the real world find her attractive? There's even a scene where one of the mean girls has to bribe guys to compliment her. It's just insane.
Idk how this game gets any praise for its writing. Aura's relationships range from nonexistent to completely nonsensical and inconsistent with the characters involved. There's barely any sense of continuity or progression and the H scenes are scarce. My initial review remains the same: Pushing through this game feels like you're rationalizing a sunk-cost fallacy for what a colossal waste of time it is.
None of this feels good to say. For how much effort was put into making this a completed game, it is extremely disappointing for a story heavy game to fail at writing relationships with core characters which is fundamental to an NTR corruption game. Aura's corruption and personality progression is awful and so are the relationships.
