Well, he wasn't participating in this trade and we are asking him to organize a trade caravan with the risk of losing all of it to bandits. I think his payment is earned.

It just makes no sense to me any way you put. It's not a big deal but Edwin knows you are the hero and yet doesn't seem to really help you at all even after you essentially gift him 3000 golds for getting the invitation to the Greed's Festival, which was in the interest of all Royans.
Plus the caravan remains unscathed and you still gain nothing from him? How is he a good person?

Edit: Also from the dialogue it's not even as it's presented as if you are gifting those to him, it's just something to make the caravan possible...but somehow no one is paying those goods? Strange really

You can remove collar or use acid bomb to reduce his mat def and use bomb to beat him. you need 3 bomb+ and bomb proficiency I to beat him

Bro you are really looking way too much into the whole "donate 3 jelly to proceed with quest" thing. Also Edwin gives you 3k gold after your 2k investment if you use Herman to get into the festival, a 50% return on an investment after a month or so is insanely generous, GL beating that IRL.

I guess I am, but still I find it pretty silly that the game just ignores what happened here when it's otherwise pretty self-aware of the costs it put to things(for example compare this to Save the Crops)

Cut him some slack. Edwin is still merchant from Trademond and looks for profit. And unlike some other merchants he never even suggests a sexual way of payment.

Also, there is something wrong in your calculations. Jelly Jams' value is 500. You could sell one of it for 250. It's definitely not almost 4000 for 3 Jelly Jams.

Why are prices in Verdaux weird? Feels like there is 18% or so increase put on them but I'm not sure how to remove it if it's even possible

Verdeaux prices have a 19% markup because Verdeaux is just like that. High cost of living or something. There's nothing you can do about it.

Regarding the caravan quest, you can join it for free if you join the Magic Academy. You'll probably want to do that anyway one way or another, so no reason to pay Edwin.

You can get 800 gold for each rank of rock armor and lightning sword you have after paying an additional 500g fee. So theoretically 2700g over 4 days if you have both spells maxed.

Pasciel is the only way to get stuff like Stone Mind II, rank II water skin and Splash (makes firestorm much easier, which has a 14000g reward at the end of it), Fire II and III, brittle II, Earth Slime, upgrading your slime summon further, the clockwork forest book, pacify II and more.

I will correct you a little. Charlotte could learn and then teach Fire II, but she needs levels for that. So Pasciel is the only way to get Fire II without waiting.

Yeah I went there with difficulty by selling stuff. This is a proper ng run on normal but I'm likely resetting at around 80 bosses done because it has slowed down lately.
While most places are doable with prior knowledge and knowing which skill to learn, the demonic generals other than Mammon remain pretty though even before day 100

How do you properly navigate the volcano region? I used waterskin but it still felt way too hard in my story mode run, I consumated so many blessed apples and lumerian bread...

Edit: I guess Water Skin II with 80 MDEF should be enough? I think I went with Water Skin I and 60 MDEF in my run

I passed the final check doing this route by using emerald tea to get my willpower to max. But I didn't get all the bonuses, so I'm not sure if it's possible to lock it even when at max will.

How? The option to overcome the brainwashing is locked out even when willpower is maxed. I even edited the lewdness value to 0. The option is still locked out. I don't know how you're supposed to be able to overcome the brainwashing in this route. Is it because my willpower got premanently reduced to 97 instead of 100? Is 100 willpower the only way to overcome it?

Could you look at collected Perversions? It's not just about willpower, it's also about modificators to it. And if you had resisted Arwin during final brainwashing scenes than it wouldn't be as bad. But giving up to Arwin during brainwashing makes a situation much worse.

Water Skin II, yeah.

As for MDef, I don't remember what's exactly enough, but you could always use lascivious coating drug if you needed more.
