Because they're slaves you haven't assigned to any job. My advice is to raise the slaves' obedience to the maximum and their fear to the minimum before assigning them a job. That way, they'll become loyal and willing to do any job. Use the spa for that.

Any news on progress? Last post on Patreon was 11th of July as on Discord nothing concrete I was thinking to support him on Patreon but now I have doubts.
just support once a new full build drops, thats what i do, else its way too much time between build and you never know when it might come the next build, can be weeks to several months to a year

Build houses in the Administrative district and than start building ministries so they'll have a job
That's the weird thing. How do I unlock ministries? I don't have the option as it is now. Is there something I need to do to unlock research too?

After conquering 10th system You'll unlock them. This does require full version of the game though.

Not quiet true, the first ministry is unlocked after conquering 3 Systems, the second one after conquering 10
I'll try to be objective but I think it'll still end up coming off pessimistic. He doesn't have a stellar record of following through with plans, but he has also been more committed to this project than to most of his previous ones. I have been keeping an eye on SM2 since he suddenly got the inspiration to abandon Rise of the Exalted and follow through with more stationmaster, but given that half his games are abandoned and SM1 was rushed to a "complete" state so that he could call it done and stop trying to work the bugs out there, I'd say it's a gamble to throw money at him.

2) Why are skills like S.P.E.C.I.A.L. needed, apart from increasing the price?
3) How can famous characters be obtained other than by capturing other princesses and loot boxes?

2. They also increase the revenue You're getting from their work.
3. You mean storyline NPCs? Just by progressing the storyline.
