Edit: so right after this I tried to import the archive into joiplay directly... this fixed the problem if anyone else has it.

I genuinely wonder why for many people no animations are a deal breaker for them.

I take static images and more content any day over animations and less content. Especially in 2D games.
Never like Live2D as well. Most of the time it looks weird, is badly implemented and bloates the game.

I don't know about anyone else but given the quality of even the best translated writing, it's not enough to get me going. Add to the fact that a majority of games with actual art (not dazshit) are mtl'd. Reading "I am wet because the penis is in the vagina Ah Ah Ah Ah Ah!" is not really sexy. So the animation plus some vaguely pornographic writing helps fill the gap.
edit: forgot to mention that there are games that I do not mind there being no animation, but the writing has to be on point. Best example are the games by Takamakuran

Same here, dosen't recognize the sign "?".

I tested the whole game, including the mini-games, had no problems with the English Layout. Check your keyboard layout. Or just ignore this mini-game, it's not important for progressing (I think) and doesn't have a scene.
