I don't understand If, you've decided to make a game, Then make it so that people want to play it, talk about it, so that it's of the highest quality. But now practice shows that many want to cobble together a half-baked game from shitty code, milk people and make more similar games. Isn't that elementary? What if you make something really cool, it will bring you much more money! Than collecting pennies for shitty games. Or you decided to become a developer but after years you can't do it, then maybe you should think about whether it's for you.
Making a good game doesn't depend on goodwill, it depends on hard work and time. And basic needs don't stop during this time: you need to eat, you need to get dressed, you need a place to live. You criticize games with code and quality issues, ignoring the fact that these games are made within the limitations of each developer. The alternatives to a low-quality game without a budget are a long development time or no game at all.
And nothing can guarantee that all the work will pay off, that the game will be liked by the public, and that there will be a financial return. A very well-made game can simply flop in the sea of offers.
Now you come and accuse me of "milk" my supporters as if they weren't aware of my limitations. I have been earning an average of $70 per month, which is a great help, but it doesn't cover the production costs. I save up for months of my own money to pay for courses and assets that allow me to progress. I do this because I believe that the result will be worth it, and that is also the feeling of those who decide to support me.
And your suggestion is that I give up making games? Dude, I live on the outskirts of the world, I have no money, no college degree, and no prospects for improving my life. If I found something that makes me happy and makes me want to keep fighting, why would I give up?
So I appreciate the suggestion. I always say that suggestions are welcome, and that's not a lie, but I intend to completely ignore yours. I hope this doesn't bother you, and if it does, I don't care. Have a good life.
