From my point of view, I don't see it that way, mainly for two reasons...
- Riley's cheating happens so gradually that it doesn't feel forced or rushed in any way...
- The "does the husband deserve to be cheated on?" factor.
(Warning, there are spoilers for the end of episode 3.0)
This is where I think this game does it perfectly. Because we know that if there is a married female MC in a VN, it is very likely that she will cheat on her husband at some point, and that is where some of us wonder if he really deserves to be cheated on. In games like "The Restaurant" or "Free Pass" this is not a problem because the husband is written in such a way that makes the player feel like he deserves to be cheated on. But in titles like "Echoes of Deception" there is frankly no reason to do it other than to see the FMC have sex with another guy because the husband is a good, rational, and currently the best written character in that VN. (Although, sadly, the developer seems to have suddenly deleted him).
Which brings us to Mike, who may be a bit dumb, but is a nice guy. I don't think he deserves to be cheated on. And this is where the developers' simple but GENIUS idea comes in... to make him into cuckolding.
This way, the player will be able to see the hottest scenes, and Riley (and the player) will have the weight off her shoulders for her actions, since she has her husband's approval. And for those who like it more traditional (or evil), they can also go the "cheating" route and have Riley have all the affairs behind Mike's back.
There's something for everyone.

One day if I'll make my own game, I'll put in the game a pretty, cheating wife but with a Gold husband: handsome, attentive, caring, worker, cool, faithful. I will want to see players' reactions.

If its female protag and you get to pick who you want to cheat with male or female, then Im playing. Otherwise I wont =)

You can never make the pace right for everybody. A lot of people are already complaining that it takes too long. For others it's going too fast. Just wait and see what happens and how they do it.

This is a good game, but i'm really surprised that it is so popular. I hard about it for a long time before every playing. So I was kinda shocked that she never bangs anyone in this whole game. Only hand and mouth stuff. I wouldn't be as surprised if it was a fairly new game, but there is a pretty sizable amount of content for it to never get to that point. Maybe it should be renamed "Baby Steps to Debauchery".

It's popular with people that don't need it to go too fast. For most people, like me, the pace is fine.
FYI...She did have sex with the husband in the first episode, but i believe that was it. I'm hoping we soon see other guys get in on the action without the husbands knowledge, but I don't know if that's the devs plan.
Imo the pacing is just about perfect in this which is rare in avns. It doesn't feel like the sexual tension is being milked, but it also doesn't feel like a slutsim.
If dev was reading this I'd say don't change a thing, we just need moar game!
Dev already explained this is a slow burn corruption game. I means it's already up to handies and blow jobs in a few months. Seven years later and AWAM is only up to hand jobs. So comparatively speaking it's doing alright.

The pacing of this game is very similar to „Innocence or Money”, and in that game, it took two years before FMC had any sex. I was lucky to play it after the first season was complete. So for me, the pacing was perfect, but for those who played it for two years, it was too slow. The same thing will happen to Steps of Debauchery.
