Hey, thanks. No offense taken. In general it comes down to the other qualities of the game are more of a positive for me than the corruption is a negative. And at the end of the day, porn be porn. But to take two easy examples of other games, GGGB and Our Red String, my initial playthroughs avoid and resist the corruption paths in those games, however with the general good-will I have towards the writing/art/etc., with time between new chapters I do end up checking out some of those other paths (not you Axel, stay the fuck away you abusive fuck) and enjoying them, to a degree (see also Project Myriam). I found SoD fairly early on in its development and it caught my eye. So I'm here mostly despite the corruption tag, and I'm hoping that what's in the dev log does come to pass. Quoted below:
"During Episode 1, there weren't too many choices and plot ramifications for a simple reason - a lack of people to work on renders and plot ramifications and additional funding (we're talking about keeping Riley in a pure relationship with Mike and fighting blackmail, for example). Truthfully, we would like to add even such possibilities to the game, but it would involve a really long wait at this point to push forward the plots that most players are interested in. The second reason was that we wanted to get to the "interesting" moment in the game first and only then start separating it into different branches. This moment in the game is almost rightly reached, so soon you can expect skipped scenes and different branches depending on the decisions made (e.g., sharing/cuckold/swinging :wink-wink: ) in due time."
If the "interesting" moment is the desk scene I can take that as plot required, but would hope to gain autonomy over my Riley soon after; Riley should separate from Mike (or divorce) then pursue all and as many relationships as appeal to me and not one more. For fem-protag games I usually default to lesbian only, if that option exists, though with SoD I could see that being expanded to the decent (so far) guys in the game, her friends at college and the streamer neighbour. I'd avoid all the rest in the game (for a first, personal 'head-canon' playthrough) because I dislike them all. (the older neighbour isn't the worst, but that seems more to be lack of opportunity rather than lack of inclination to take advantage of Riley)
I suppose it comes down to if the game is only a corruption game, or if it is an AVN with optional corruption elements. If it is the former, where corruption is prescribed and non-avoidable, my interest drops greatly. If corruption is a possible path, then I can still enjoy the base game, and if the game is good enough, maybe even some of the corruption aspects. With the AVN market, I imagine most devs want to throw the widest net possible to pull in fans, even if there are specialised routes under that umbrella they may naturally like more (cheating/NTR kink is the big example).
Hope that helps clear up my perspective, and I imagine, some other folks that find themselves enjoying corruption games despite the corruption.

I think I played a bit of that game. Gave it up because there wasn't a non-corruption or mild corruption path. The content just stopped after a certain point if you didn't get more corrupt. But I don't think that game has crossed my mind since.

Maybe I have a resist-corruption kink? Like, in OSR, telling Seymour and Axel to go pound sand, or getting the fuck away from the partner in Project Myriam, those story beats are incredibly satisfying to me. Might be more of a hero or power fantasy, virtually fighting against evil capitalists or abusive partners from the safety of a VN.
Shit, maybe that should be a new tag? That'd be my jam.

I dont know why these guys saying its short for two months. They should see other famous games development before criticising this if they are not a fake profiles of those devs

There actually are two sex animations speeds.
Okay, that's probably my new favorite review. People come here to hate, getting used to it, but receiving 1 star and telling that Riley is a boy is too much. Nothing to do with it, but I am getting to feel dizzy with all those comments here. Probably will just drop my weapon and step out of F95zone.

Ahh Thank you your responses were intelligent and understandable, very much appreciated. I think you probably prefer games further along in development where the non corrupt routes have had time to be established. Like "A Struggle with Sin" that game has a ton of corruption opportunities but you can avoid most corruption and still have a satisfying game because the devs has had years to develop it. While new corruption game draw in a corruption audience that are eager to get the show on the road so to speak.
Even this game I like the direction it's headed and I even support on Patreon but...I hope we get to some good situations soon. I haven't even played the latest update and I may wait until the next update before picking it up again unless I hear there is finally some hot corruptible situations this update.
I feel this game will probably hit it's stride for me in version 3.0. It's unusual for me to support new devs like this because I have no idea if 'm going to like the games direction but Fooxied is active and communicative to the community, Riley is hot and it has so much Potential I am risking it lol.

Not defending the review, but I think the subtext was more about the Male Gaze being the default, even with a female MC. The reviewer was just poor at getting their thoughts across. At least that's what the I was a girl and next moment i some guy who looking at his own dick, I turned off this supposedly "female game". I was duped. was referring to.

Unfortunately reviewers don't have to have brains to leave reviews or even to have played a substantial portion of the game.
I was actually thinking of proposing an elevated reviewer status for people who have met certain criteria on the forum and can leave well thought out reviews about the game after 100% of the current updates.
People leave reviews on assumptions they make about a game with out waiting to see if the game even goes that way.
It ruins scores and hides a lot of hidden gem games behind idiot comments in our current system.
Now we need people to 5 Star the game to counteract that dbag.

Oof, I've never been able to do RPGM, but thanks for the recommendation.
No spoilers, but the corruption definitely kicks up a gear this episode, though you may be right, ep 3 will likely have a lot more.

RPGM is a mixed bag but I have found the RPGM and RENPY both suck if done poorly. (See Lida's adventure! He did it both ways and they both suck lol)
A Struggle with SIN RPMG is extremely well done with very few glitches, it took me awhile to understand the art is not old but a Art style choice and the story is solid. You can avoid most if not all of the corruption, if you so choose and there is literally days of game play but that's because it's been around since 2019. Let me know if you try it out and your thoughts on it if so.
Still shouldn't have been one star review. Ranting and leaving a one star review on an otherwise well-produced game because the game doesn't hit your personal kink just right... well that is just pathetic and petty behavior. Maybe knock off a star and leave some constructive criticism. Don't just have a sad little tantrum like that reviewer did .
Hey developer - don't take it personally. This is the internet, and there will always be a few broken people who use internet anonymity to do dumb things. Thanks for your efforts making this game - the overwhelming majority of us appreciate it.

Agreed, that review was a temper tantrum spewed onto the review page. I just ended up spending a few moments trying to decipher what they meant with that line, and think that's what they were talking about. Probably not intentional or a statement, but the camera angles weren't really from Riley's perspective. Doesn't justify that review in any way though.
FMC does not mean, the game have to contain camera angle from Rileys eyes.
That's the whole point - Female Protagonist, because the main character around which we create the whole story is female. And that's it. That guy wanted to have always the view from Rileys perspective, in that case I would never show her from third person perspective and this is not a gay game.
