An actual lecture hall is a nice touch. I am assuming back seats & under the table action is in the works
Not sure if it's just me, but the persistence on this one doesn't work for me. I'm using version 3.2 in the OP, just downloaded it last night. If I play the game and keep it open, I can skip seen content. But as soon as I exit and reload all achievements are gone and all seen content is not tagged as 'seen' so I have to manually progress through it. And again, on a save/exit/start the achievements are gone and seen content is again unseen.
In my %appdata%\Roaming\RenPy\StepsofDebauchery-1685715150 I do have the persistence file that's 160KB. Any idea why the achievements keep disappearing? I haven't noticed it in the few other games I've played they seem to maintain persistence tracking this stuff.
Other than that, enjoying the game thus far. I really like that you aren't "forced" in any of the scenarios. Even paying the $200/week is easy enough to do to avoid the inability to pay. I don't like forced blackmail routes, as they feel too contrived to me. But with easy outs of any of them, this one is great! Looking forward to the updates.

And if you are truthful to Mike on the Yacht and while cosplaying, he admits to being interested in cuckoldry. He asks you to do your thing but keep him in the loop. So yeah, you can go off and do the streaming, dancing, and that's it if you want. With permission to do exactly that, is it cheating?
I'll never understand why people that play sandbox-style games get so upset when someone plays in said sandbox differently then they do. If someone wants to just sit in the sand and do nothing, why does it matter and why call it out? If someone wants to skip 90% of the game's content, that's their prerogative. That's the beauty of a sandbox, you do you and what is right for you may not be right for someone else. No way is wrong, as the options exist to allow exactly that within the game's sandbox. If it wasn't allowed it'd be a kinetic novel with no choices.
I like the content that is not forced via contrived blackmail, but where I get to choose how the MC works... with Mike's approval. Am I not playing the game properly then, because I stopped the Dean's blackmail?

This is not a sandbox and never will be.
You're just given the illusion of sandbox with some mundane choices here and there.
I can name you few actual sandbox games here on this forum that I know people will start begging for walk-through mod after just 10 minutes into the game getting blocked by the content they desired due to wrong choices.
SoD is not even close to be actual sandbox so please stop talking about things you're obviously clueless about.
Sandbox tag is given way to freely in this forum for as long as it exists and it only deceives people to play some games because of that tag just to get disappointed how much spoon fed they are in reality.
P.S. I just want to add that it's not devs fault - it's people who started crying about things like failing to make money to pay the mafia or that strip-dance that forced the devs to make it "retard-friendly".

I can opt out of the streamer path, or not.
I can opt out of parts of the cleaning path with Elijah's dad.
I can opt out of the bondage, or chose to Dom or Sub it.
I can opt out of most of the major components. Some are replaced with something else, others not.
Is it a full sandbox? No, and you are right here. The question isn't about the size of the sandbox, it's that I can bring my own stuff and play with the elements that I like, live inside the game as it happens, and then how far I want to push those parts. That's still a sandbox, even if it's a small one. Just because it's small doesn't mean it doesn't have sand that I can play with, and things I want to ignore.
Most 'corruption' games that are out are really just disguised kinetic novels. Things happen and you just have to push through all of it. There's very little way to opt out of what I don't like (in my case contrived blackmail). And that's what makes this better than just about every other 'corruption' game I've come across thus far.
If you have any other games like this that are more like sandboxes where I can control the nature of corruption, please do send them to me. I'd love to see them.
That is quite simple why most corruption games tend to be kinetic novel - if you allow the player to skip most of the corruption routes/paths the plot will become shallow and make no sense and no Indie dev have enough resources to make „happy” ending.

There are few others that I would call at least somewhat similar to SoD, like Project Myriam or Anna Exciting Affection but they all very much force the MC to become corrupted in some way. And it would honestly make little sense for a player to not want to corrupt the MC in a game called "Steps to Debauchery".
Like...if you don't want to play football/soccer, don't start Fifa/EA FC.
Sure, there are "real sandboxes" like Girl Life or Course of Temptation, but those either have no art or real porn that is much easier to implement.
Varying types of corruption levels could make great multiple endings.
Or endings based on individual or additives scenes. For example, Ivy and Streaming fit very well together if that's your thing. That's exactly it though! And If I want to play football/soccer but not online I skip the online content. Or if I don't just want to play single matches, I fire up career mode. Maybe I don't want to be a career manager, I create my own player career. Do I mis content? Absolutely, but I can play it the way I like it.
And I'm not saying no corruption at all. I'm just saying that not everyone has the same interests in types of corruption. I personally can't stand forced blackmail, but I love the Streamer, Cleaning, Bondage (Ivy), dancing at the bar thus far. Incredibly well done, all of them. And Mike being open to cuckoldry removes the cheating element of it.
If someone likes the Dean's content, all power to them! It's there, enjoy it. I'll skip it for as long as I can.

I'm the same way, I play every route but the dean. I've enjoyed the game very much so far. Everyone will get different experiences out of this. Mine just doesn't include that asshole.

Lately I've been suffering from cuckold syndrome. I understand that corruption is part of the official storyline. The story becomes exciting because of the corruption. However, I also feel very sad for Mike.

It's really all that keeps the game from having an option than 'cheating' path if you are honest on both the yacht and cosplay scene. Haven't tried the dishonesty/lying/cheating routes as it's not really an interest of mine.
As he so readily agrees to the dancing (bar and yacht), streaming (after seeing you in costume), and exhibitionism (strip poker on yacht), it's hard to feel too bad for him. With all honesty cards on the table, that is.
I like that the corruption doesn't have to be straight downhill, forced, and contrived. I do have some options in what I can opt into, and Mike knowingly aware of, and approving of, all them is just perfect with me.

You just can’t allow the player to skip everything they don’t like, so I kinda agree with other opinion - you don’t play FIFA, if you don’t like football.
