Did run into a technical problem. Game is not opening any more. The exe seems to have a problem. Downloaded it a second time, same problem. Anyone had a similar issue and what was the resolution?

Tried another directory or drive ? That solved a similar problem for me with another renpy game.

First, you support the game's creator by writing your opinion after playing for just an hour, and you receive updates a little earlier than everyone else. You don't have to wait for the release to download and play updates: the creator releases them themselves, they download automatically, and you're ready to play on Steam.
