I've been counting the days for this update to be released! Just finished it and it was really amazing. I love how the story keeps getting even better (and the guys hotter ). Thanks Aaryn for all of your hard work! I know it's only words but man this is the best VN I've ever played, by a long shot. I can't even imagine how hard it is to do what you do and that's why I wanted to really express my gratitude. You're the best!

Sex isn't the primary focus of the game. Just like in real relationships. I'm trying really hard to do something unique here rather than just make people nut. The fact that this genre has no limits is amazing from a storytelling perspective

Thanks a lot. I was digging the background on these guys, too. It's nice to see both of them outside the usual environments where they can't keep up a certain appearances.

I think I found an endless loop in the end of Part 1 Chapter 3. I tried every option but it just looping there.

Not sure where you're stuck at. There's a readme file in the game folder that can probably give you some pointers on what to push. I hate the beginning of the game with the loops. I basically mirrored things after most adult games at the time and looking back now, i can't stand it. I'm going to rework the beginning once the story is done. The typical "grind" that most adult games have sucks and it's lazy.

For the most part, the pressure from the fans isn't too bad. Ironically, the most impatient people are the ones who don't donate. The Patreon supporters are the ones usually telling me to take my time; it's some of the free people that gripe about how long updates take. I do alright for the most part at balancing that. But yeah, the vision of the game won't change. I refuse to compromise that even if people get irritated by the lack of sexual content. I figure if this game isn't what others want, they can make their own, shouldn't take more than 50,000 hours and they'll be caught up, haha.

In such a case, Aaryn would have to write something absolutely different. Moreover, I think 665 patrons is a remarkable number and proof that many people are rather happy with it. Obviously, there is a considerably need of such kind of VN, a gay romance deeply concentrated on the inner life of its characters and not on sex. This can be supplied elsewhere.

I'm completely fine with that. I have been since the beginning. I feel very comfortable with where I'm at in the story and the decisions related to when and how much sex is in the game. I'd do a few things differently if I had it to do over again (I dont like the beginning grind and I'd change Mikhail's hair) but I still wouldn't cater to the porn-thirsty masses because there's not enough story there. At that point, the game just gets lost in the sea of other adult games with the same cliched situations. Financial support is fickle and I'd never leave the stability of the game story or characters to an inconsistent variable. I believe in making myself, not letting the crowd make me. I wanted to do something different and unique and if I make less money because of that, at least I wrote the story that I chose to write. I'll be thankful for the support I get along the way regardless. Positively impacting people with a story like this is worth way more than making a ton of money. I'm not writing porn--you can get that anywhere. I feel like I'm well within my target demographic.

Yep. The porn shit is easy and it's weak storytelling. I'm not the best writer and Ive never even done it before so I'm taking my crack at writing an actual story that has an impact. I have inboxes of fan mail about the emotional impact and the validation that people have received from this--which is exactly what I wanted and why I started to share the project in the first place--otherwise, I would have just wrote it for me and been done with it. I usually get at least message a week--usually more after updates from people who were emotionally impacted by the game. But over the course of 3 years it's 100s of messages and that's not counting the people who never actually wrote. I was looking at the downloads for the last update and the free version of v17.2 was downloaded over 19k times just from my Patreon site. That's not counting the other mirrors. I have more than enough support and I appreciate every bit of it

Hey, sorry...somehow I overlooked these 2 posts, my bad. Don't click ignore. You got the error because you used an old save file. There's a warning screen about that when you start the game up. Quit and go back to the main menu, click new game and then select update. You can hold ctrl until you get back to where you were. If you click ignore, you'll miss half that scene

I was asking because I was wondering if the game started with an idea then went into a different direction along the way -in particular, that scene early on on 'perving' over Braden's sleeping seemed to suggest that you could have had a sort of double way (a 'nice' one and a 'naughty/corrupting' one) to the game that was subsequently scrapped.

No, there's still two distinct perspectives to the game but they'll end up with the same ending...just two different ways of getting there

That was another great update, I actually went back to the start and replayed over again. I really enjoyed the drama, the scene at the pool after Braden overhears Zack still kills me (His defeated betrayed face is heartbreaking).

On to the update the reflection on the glasses was brilliant I really enjoyed the backstory for the other guys. It really helps to flesh out the story.
