The only thing the family patch does is changes the name labels to show the corrected name so instead of it sounding like they are from a church the labeling of the names clears it up to make it sound normal. Funny thing is just from looking at the game data it almost like a cult with the original labeling. even if you are not into incest I would still put the patch.
