Unlike some other regions of the world, most people in the US refer to the husband or wife of their blood related aunt or uncle as aunt or uncle also. I have some friends who were raised south of the border(Mexico, El Salvador, etc.) who say "my uncle's wife" while most Americans will say "my aunt" when referring to their uncle's wife.
