It says v0.5.1b on the site, but I think the version in the zip file is still v0.5.1. At any rate, it still has the black screen bug on the windows version for me.

I just grabbed it now. The filename is the same BUT the black screen issue has gone for me. FWIW I created a new folder and didn't just overwrite the old one.

If that's the case then it's still not working for me. I'm still getting the black screens on animations. Everything else works nicely.

The ZIP name is the same, the version change is visible in top right cornet of the main menu inside the game.
The fact that it worked for Daemon88 shows the upload worked.
Jericho85 please make sure "v0.5.1b" appears in the main menu. If the version is correct, the videos are not working for other reason. When testing the animations are you loading a save or using the Scenes Gallery? What's your Windows version? Does the folder "Streaming_For_Love" exists in "C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\"?

Thanks for the reply. It was v0.5.1b like you said. I am still getting the black screen on animations though. I'm running it on NixOS (Linux 6.12) with wine, so if it's working for Windows users now then don't fuss over it for my sake. I'd like to see the animations, but it's not the end of the world if I can't.
I do have a Streaming_For_Love folder in /AppData/local and I still have all my saves. The problem persists after trying a number of proton versions. For what it's worth, the game runs marvelously on both Bottles and Lutris except for the animations.
The "animation black screen" problem happened for a couple updates a while back in Shale Hill Secrets too but it's no longer a problem with that game. I can see animations in the current version of SHS without issue. And I used to get animations in SFL back in Chapter 3 with the Becca scene. But every update since I haven't had animations so I guess something is different in SFL and now none of the animations show (including the ch1 and ch3 scenes).

Hey, thanks for the clarification. In SHS we use strip animations (so basically image frames), so it's hard for them to fail. At the beginning S4L also used that system, but we upgraded it for real videos (MP4), so that's certainly the issue. The real solution would be to have a Linux version of the game... But I currently don't have the time to deal with that...
IDK if this will help, but as far as I know the video player we use requires ffmpeg version 4, so take a look if that package is installed.

Thanks for the info. That at least points me in the direction of finding a solution. I picked up the ffmpeg_4 package but still no animations. I could already play mp4 videos no problem outside of SFL, but I guess they're just not playing within the wine environment. I suspect I might have to set some kind of preset in Bottles or Lutris to get it working but I don't know how to do that.
Truth be told, I don't really know how to troubleshoot Wine all that well and if there's not a native linux version for a thing, I normally get by with throwing the windows version into Bottles/Lutris/Steam then using the latest Proton. I don't know the fine-tuning tricks. I'll keep poking at this video problem but I guess I can also live without the mp4 animations until someone smarter than me figures it out

Hello, how many episodes of this is ou? I like the Devs previous games so I will give this one a try, just dont want to start something that didnt get that far storywise.
I'm getting this error when I try to start the game (windows): "The procedure entry point MFCreateDXGIDeviceManager could not be located in the dynamic link library MFPlat.DLL" --> Haven't gotten this error with any of the previous versions (which I can still open just fine). Any thoughts?

The bartender is all kinds of low-key hot. Loved the bonus scene with her; wish she could feature in the main game more.

There should be a release in early February. With a high probability of February 1-2.
I am also running the game with proton in Linux, and running in to the same Black screen issue during animations. FWIW, I tried both loading a save and using the Scenes Gallery. Any more info on the player you guys are using to play the animations (other than ffmpeg4)? Is it bundled with the game - Does it expect any specific DLLs/libraries? I can try debugging wine issues but any pointers might help.

Hi everyone! How are you all doing?
Just dropping by to update you on the development of the new Streaming For Love episode. As you might expect, the update was scheduled for release today, the last day of January. However, we'll need to delay the launch by a few days, but for a good reason.
The truth is, being the first episode of the year, we chose to deliver a much more substantial chapter to you. For this, we combined the planned content for two episodes, creating Episode 06 with much more content for you. The trade-off is that the work also doubled. We worked hard this January, however, we couldn't make it. But, as mentioned before, we just need a few more days to finish polishing it.
Additionally, this release will already include some subtle changes in how the game develops plus a playable Platinum bonus scene. We incorporated many suggestions that came from our quality survey, and our goal, as always, is to deliver something that meets your expectations of us.
So that's it, folks. New release next weekend! Stay tuned as we'll bring a new post with the official release and all the information about Episode 06.

that or maybe Chole or Megan somehow convinced her to come in for a talk. I was thinking more Chole she seems to be the more level headed and smart one
