I can't start a brand new game on Linux. I downloaded the newest version from itch.io. After running the executable from konsole I have an error code for clicking on "Start Game" button:

I haven't tried Strive2 before this so there's a lot of other "Invalid get index" errors (scenedict, scriptdict, game_globals, stream, ) for hovering over menu items and such.
I'm running 5.13.5-1 Manjaro.
Fellow Linux user here (just a DRM-"remover"). Most of these assume a case-insensitive access to filesystem or some other bad programming behavior like that, gotta get used to it. Godot engine, kinda breaks when files can't be accessed, so see if there are any other errors during startup alone in console. Love KDE, would run it, but theming is near impossible to get the way I like it (Cinnamon).

Am I correct in saying that there is no new story content in this update?
The notes say nothing about story content. He has been working more on the mechanics then the story, that is kind of been his goal since he started this one. I mean I get people are expecting a good story and fap but this one is more about managment and strategy then hold ctrl to skip to porn, and he wants to get that stuff sorted out before going all in on the story. I look at this like an EA alpha stage game, I figure he is gonna tweak the mechanics till he is happy for few more months before adding any story.

I'm familiar with case-insensitive "coding" because back in 1990s I was one until I dropped those websites on Linux servers. Renpy runs great in a case-sensitive file system. I guess I have to google how to enable case-insensitivity to Strive's directory tree.

Thanks for the tip. I needed to shuffle files between drives so I could reformat one of them as casefold. Now this started without any errors until the main menu and start game button worked too after I dropped this into a case-insensitive directory. First I tried to launch this from a usb drive but linux said no permissions. :D Well, no I have a ready to use location within my system to handle other poorly coded stuff without me losing my nerves.

I've got pretty much the same trouble here. I can add that I used the linux version 0.5.1a and it worked just fine there. No outstanding errors and the game ran. In 0.5.2 I can't use the start game or the load button in main menu. Thus the game is 'running' since I get there but it's not working at all.

I've got pretty much the same trouble here. I can add that I used the linux version 0.5.1a and it worked just fine there. No outstanding errors and the game ran. In 0.5.2 I can't use the start game or the load button in main menu. Thus the game is 'running' since I get there but it's not working at all.
I got it working by reformatting one of my local partitions to ext4 with an option casefold that enables making directories that are case-insensitive. Seems like the version wasn't tested with any other filesystem than NTFS under Windows.

Couldn't find the answer by searching, so i'll ask here; can you be mayor in sandbox mode? Or do i have to play default mode?

Well so I copied the file onto some drive I used to use with win7 which should be NTFS. Unfortunately linux now refuses to mark the file as executable. Whenever I check the box to do so it instantly sets the file settings back.

Edit: after putting it on some ext4 drive it worked. At least with the bug containing extra characters as mentioned above even while loading an old save file. I guess I'll make it from here. thx

That's one thing I hate about Linux's case-sensitivity. "Test" and "test" are not the same folder/file, whitespace is also *for no good reason* an issue, quite frankly I'd rather not deal with it. Maybe someday. At least we're usrmerge. Still love Linux.

I downloaded the stealth update from itch.io to fix the multiple master new game issue, but now I'm finding a new bug: none of my acquired sex traits seem to be usable for my master or slaves...

[Edit] - another stealth update on itch fixed the bug.
