So I tried to install this mod:
And I just downloaded the other prerequisite mod, + this one, moved them properly to the mods folder, activated in-game, restarted, and was greeted by a wall of text of SCRIPT ERROR logs. All the gameplay shit is broken, of course, the race selection, classes, traits menus are all fucked.
Are mods just in a permanent state of fucking the game up? They never worked as far as I remember.

Well the mod pages listed the appropriate game version as the one I was using, so I don't know anymore.
The game is still very much in flux code-wise such that modders may make changes for what they think has changed between versions and miss other mechanics that cause broken states. Try as they might, modders also cannot account for conflicts between mods. Until this game reaches an end state and settles on how the game is to be played, your best bet is to play with Mods "off" so that there are no issues.

Actually got further in the story than I ever did, up to Act 3.
Why does the game keep throwing unique slaves at you? The fuck am I supposed to do with all of them? Anastasia, Aire, Lilia, Mae, Helieviel, Amelia, all useless, they're just sitting there chilling. I know taking them is "optional" but you know how it is - if you can do it, you gotta.
I don't really have problems with combat, so don't need them there. You can steamroll pretty much everything with a 2-3 characters party. It hasn't gotten much difficult in that regard. The enemies are only bigger HP sponges now pointlessly dragging out the fights.

I agree, it would be nice if those unique NPCs had more unique properties or mechanics. The combat system is not very interesting, but I think they talked about revamping it.

IMO the game just needs to introduce some more jobs that you can fill with purpose. Like maids for your manor's passive maintenance, a secretary for your finances. Some kind of bedwarmer/attendant role so you can sexo your harem passively instead of having to do it manually via a system that can get VERY tedious.
Cooking and farming already do this to some extent, but you only need 1 (one) character on each resource and they make SO MUCH of it per turn with a proper setup you're basically doing industrial-scale agriculture on their own.

I must say, if a porn game makes you want to hire a person to lewd your harem for you, it's not a good porn game. But at least it's still pretty interesting as a game.

Context and connotation, 0nymous, made the "you" of your statement imply the person at the keyboard (driven home by the "system that can get VERY tedious" tacked onto the end), not the fictional character the person at the keyboard is directing in the game. flannan pointed out just that in a way that was wryly funny. Why you went full keyboard warrior on that is a mystery. Casting shade at other people's skills for making a mistake of comprehension that you yourself made is not a good look.
Setting that aside, as you stated in a prior post you seem to have hit the limit of enjoyment with the current game system. The "catching them all" aspect is now a tedious exercise done for the sake of completion rather than having fun. The management system has become a chore of micro-managing. And you have had enough gaps in the play-for-fun experience that there is not one but many things you want to see implemented to rekindle the challenges you had found engaging. Maybe this is something for the developer to see here:
