So for example, Cali from the prequel and Cali in this one might have completely different background and personalities? Would it be recommended to beat the first one first before I play this one or it doesn't matter because of how different they are?

It does not matter because there both different games.
Cali does not act the same from one to the other.

I would recommended you play both but do not think there one and the same because there not.
2 different play style and game mechanics.
The only thing that is close is the sex action and even that is different in its own way.

If you say the thing about "needing another reminder," she will run away in the middle of the night, so either of the other two answers will keep her. There is another point later where she can rebel and make a break for it, so remember: you can't push her too hard, or she will push back. Or, to just tell you directly: When you're feeding her from the bowl, don't call her a bitch or she will throw the bowl at your head and escape.

It's a class thing, not a stat thing. You need to bring someone with a class capable of a "persuasion challenge."

It's seems none of the Settlements have the hunt option for me and I've only just noticed the resource upgrade tab. I seem to have also bugged out the one where you can farm vegetables, silk and cloth ... rip this save file (The job options disappeared).

By far the easiest is to go to a grove type dungeon in the forest. A quick trip through there will net you 300-500 meat usually.

(i.e. you press a button expending a point or something and a message tells you you had sex with the girl or something to that effect) Are they visually based? (animations, CGs, etc) Are they text based? (and if so, how long, well written and complex are they? i.e. is it just more or less the same short texts depending on a "nature" value of the girl or something like that?)

I really want to play a game that let's you use custom images but usually the sex scenes are the most disappointing part of those (understandable, it's the hardest part to do when you have custom girls, but still. I remember Lilith's Throne did a pretty decent job with the procedural sex descriptions). How's this one?

Yes it is mostly text based an click once and 1 point goes away and so on.
If you played the first game then it is very close to that.

Theres the "normal" sex you do with your slaves and peons via the "date" mechanism, you get to choose what action who does to who, and then short descriptive text appears, with variations based on how much they like you/that action and if they are your children.
Only images are the character potraits.

The second kind are the scenes with CG on background and text on top that you progress by clicking next, these scenes can be found in the gallery after unlocking

You should be able to persuade (inferior option since you cant use peons to improve your people) or enslave them, from the top right dropdown menu.

Also if you have left loot people behind i think you should be able to go back to the dungeon and enslave them, unless you got rid of the dungeon.

Very weird, i expected to be able to interact with them right from the loot window, but this isn't bad either as you can save before dipping into the captured targets pool.
