As a harem game enjoyer, in my opinion if you feel that it would ruin your story then don't do it. That said there are a lot of harem games on this site, some of them are really good and some of them are shallower than a cup of water spilled on the floor. So there are references that you can find. What to do and what not to do.

Speaking as another harem enjoyer, I agree with this. Make the game you want to make. Sacrificing your creative vision to rework things for the sake of others generally results in a worse game imo (outside of reasonable changes ofc).

That being said, I'd also probably not play this if I ended up having to choose one girl and be stuck with that. I just don't like being limited in porn games usually, since odds are I'll like more than one love interest. But that's a result of my own preferences, and not something I'd expect you to alter your game for. I'm sane enough to decide a game just isn't for me lol.

If you feel like you genuinely want to add a harem route, great. Harem lovers rejoice. But it should be something you actually want to do since, you know, it's your game.

i know you basically just decided on adding this but i am someone who likes harem games but dislike and lesbian/girl on girl content in male mc games so was curious if a harem path would be possible in your game without this kind of content

I'm so so on the decision to make it a harem game. Most of the ones I've played have shitty unrealistic stories with cringy protags and bland girls. They ain't bad if you're mainly playin to jerk off, but I doubt many players get invested in them.
