It works but but yeah it just changes the "default" from landlady to Mother etc. so all you have to do is hit enter.

I don't think so. However this update was different, because the game went under a sort of remake, thus forcing you to start it all over again. But overall no, I don't think you have to worry about having to start from scratch every time there's an update, just in this particular case.

Tbh I'm confused, because it seems that the remake hasn't been that well-received, especially with the introduction of AI in animations. I haven't played 6D yet because there's no new content and I caught up with the game fairly recently, so really it seems pointless right now. Not sure if the dev will keep going with the remake or if he'll back down and change some stuff there as well. I believe you said before that you're a patron, right? I don't know if you have more information in that regard. I was genuinely thinking about supporting the game myself, but between going back on his promises about the content that he was and wasn't going to include, and now this unwanted changes, I'm not sure anymore.I would not hold your breath on that
