What is with Subverse?

Alpha, Beta or new Screenshots Teaser/Trailer?

Lets Plays?
You're really not likely to see any Lets plays of a porn game I'm gonna guess. Elsewise it's still in beta, testing the SHMUP section. You know you can basically follow the development of the game along with everyone else by just checking out their kickstarter updates, they do 2 a month

If there any movies, shorts n that other than the game with updates?
There is suppose to be a video released once the Studio F.O.W. Twitter account reached 60k. Only about 900 followers away from it dropping. So by all means, make a throwaway account if you haven't and Follow them.

They are pretty good at what they are doing :) I do believe the promised movie is already made, they wouldnt do such thing unplaned incase "the followers" would instantly raise and they would have to rush making it or put aside main dish. Well thats how i see it atleast.

They are the exact opposite of that. Subverse was supposed to have 4 chapters released by now. They promised to release a short video every month. They had several videos with 20% or more percent done on their page, they tried to delete every evidence of that. If you believe in FOW, especially now after they lied about so many things, then you must be really, really special one.

They promised a video every month until they realized they couldn't do that, a while ago mind you, and instead moved to a when it's done basis. As for subverse, no, they were not supposed to have released 4 chapters by now. The old, now outdated, roadmap stated that the beta for the first chapter would start q3 2019 and would be released when it was ready, and then they'd start working on the other chapters q4 2019. You really think they'd get 4 chapters out by January? They've never stated it'd be chapter per month or anything of the sort, it was that the chapters would be done when they were done, and they'd go into beta testing when they were ready. And that was BEFORE they announced, a fair while ago now, that they were not doing Early Access because they had received advice that early access wouldn't work for a game like they wanted, and they instead wanted to just go for a full release, for multiple reasons which they listed on their kickstarter updates. FOW has been nothing but open about their business and, if you actually spent time to go and ask them about all the stuff they've had to abandon they'd explain to you why, most likely because, with their Patreon being banned, they couldn't afford to actually finish the videos.

Hoo boy...let's just break that shit down xD

"Subverse was supposed to have 4 chapters released by now."

Either you're referring to a roadmap that has obviously changed with the cancellation of EA, or you just vastly underestimated how long it takes a game to be made. You have to bear in mind that EA was the plan when the goal was only 100k, and then they got more than 1.5 million. With those kind of resources it made no sense to stick to a piece by piece EA strategy, when you could instead hire more people and aim to get the entire game done that much sooner.

"They promised to release a short video every month"

Either this is referring to raffle clips (which had to be stopped, as Patreon arbitrarily decided to change their rules so giving things away as a raffle is a form of gambling and therefore couldn't be done anymore) or you're referring to the more shorter 10-15 minute films we got inbetween larger releases. Which they did. Inbetween Nightmare Code Valentine, and Ghosts of Paradise (2 30+ minute films) we got Songbird's Shame, Mila Red Riding Hood, Nier: First Assembly, and Severance. Which is a lot more production that you'd get from...anyone else.

"They had several videos with 20% or more percent done on their page, they tried to delete every evidence of that "

Well let's just pull an answer right from the FAQ's from Subverse's Kickstarter page:

How will your movie production be impacted by Subverse?

We will continue making movies in the future. Instead of jumping into movies right away in a new engine, we chose to get some practice by using the game as our experimental lab.
We’ve already improved so much from 6 months ago, and we feel that we will improve even more during the development of Subverse. This will make sure we avoid the dreaded “first-year syndrome” that plagues 3DCG artists who are still learning a new engine.
Case in point - compare Lara in Trouble (2014) to Kunoichi 3 (2018), which was done in the same engine. The difference due to experience is vast. The experience we gain on the game, while the programmers are able help us with a lot of the toughest tasks, will translate into much higher quality movies.

To simplify this, the progress bars you once saw on the website were removed because A) they just kept inviting the same repetitive questions, and B) to not make false expectations

Towards the end of their movie production (namely Ghosts and K3) they had already started moving their movie assets from SFM to UE4. So every project that was listed or announced on their Patreon (the rest of Scarlet Nights, the Metroid movie, Jessica Rabbit's sequel, the Witcher project, etc) are all going to be in that new engine. Subverse will be used as not just a product of their own original IP, but as training for their animators to get used to the new toolset.

You will still be seeing all the movies that you claim they've 'deleted all evidence of'. FOW has never canceled anything they've announced (even when little shits reported their project to Blizzard, they still released Coliseum of Lust).

But please, keep going off about how this group that is reporting progress every 2 weeks is somehow leaving you all in the dark and isn't being honest and transparent more so than most of the AAA video game companies do these days.

Thank you VValen and Emperor Arcturus for bringing actual logic in this free clueless bashing.
I came to realize how shitty modeling and rendering can get since I'm working in a 3D animation studio (as an IT, mind, so mostly handling the rendering part of it) and pay fucking respect for the humongous work Studio F.O.W has been doing, to which Kickstarter patrons get a monthly update stating what they've done, what they plan to do, giving previews and other things.

People mostly misinterpreted what was said during the campaign and/or, when faced with logic, start flipping tables all around. Be patient.

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

"It's a collage of different failed experiments therefore I do not consider it part of the normal catalog and will not have the FOW-017 release number."

--> I will just leave this here

On a more "serious" Note (as serious as one can be discussing 3D Porn on the Internet anyway ulu) :

No matter the quality of their Movies (i think most of them are good tbh), DC is and will forever remain an utter twat and the studiofowcirclejerk is hilarious to me. They did contribute a lot to the "scene" and have done really good stuff in the past and are still somewhat relevant, but their glory days are over in my book.
