Can anyone tell me from what is the reference in the trailer of Subverse where they say that can unlock 3 different colored endings? I read someplace that was a reference, criticizing some game I think. XD
Mass Effect 3, which after painstaking hours of working and trying to get the best ending instead the game puts you in a position, shows you three different choices, each having a unique color of Red, Blue or Green(?), and says "Okay so just pick which one you like best!"

Okay okay, now I get it. Thanks for the clarification.

Well they're definitely gonna hit their 400k mark, seeing as right now they're at almost 393k, they'll probably hit the last bumb either today or tomorrow
And then deliver a shitty product, after gaining that amount of money. Seeing what they did so far with the "Movie side" of things..

At least I hope that they'll deliver something after this, otherwise.. holy heavens!

It'll be fine, they've got a big crew working on it, the ones working on the game part have experience from making them in the past, so like I said it'll be fine.

Doesn't mean anything, honestly. They can have even those from Bioware (technically speaking there are others much more good.. but it was the first name that I came up with - and I'm talking about the first Dragon Age's as well as Mass Effect's kind of "era" of Bioware) and such but if the one's who.. monitor everything/works is really one who can't do anything at all, they can't really do much. It's not only up to those who makes the game mechanics as well as the arts, but even who have the leads and I fear that: that who have the lead can fuck up in any moment and since they're not an AAA game company.. eh. You can clearly see why 99% of my thoughts are toward a failure and 1% is for hope

Sorry, I don't understand how you think the lead can screw this up? If the lead takes a hands off approach and simply does what they're supposed to do, ensure everyone's doing their job correctly and on time and guiding the progress, then it's up to the individuals doing the individual job, such as the designers and artists, to ensure they do a good job. Thus, hiring third party people with previous experience would be really helpful, especially if they have a good track record, because they'll most likely be used to working on projects, whether big or small, and be able to do their work on time. The trailer they have shows the quality of their animation at least, which is definitely far and above what a company of their size would be expected to achieve in my mind anyway. I have to disagree here, I don't clearly see why you are so hell bent on this ending in a failure.

I was skeptical at first as well, but after spending some time reading through the Kickstarter page and listening to a few interviews I became confident I'll have fun with the end product and decided to join the army. If it was a "we're building it from scratch once the Kickstarter is complete" situation I might have held off, but they already have an alpha build in place and just received a ton of funding to polish it. That makes me think it will be a difficult project to mess up, and in interviews the lead sounds passionate about the game and seems to know what he wants to create (it wasn't a bunch of "well maybe.." and "we'll look into that.." type of comments). Even an entirely text-based game with the story they described would be worth it to me, though, so I may be biased - the trailer is almost perfect in my eyes!

Damn they've already got an alpha build out now? Man I'd love to play it. They say who got a hold of it, or is it just for the team to test?

I don't think anything's been released yet, but Mr. Kristoff mentioned they have a functional build in place in one of the interviews I listened to. I think it was the one with smudboy here but I'm not positive:

Scanning through quickly, I may be wrong (there's an image with a pre-alpha tag) but they did touch on testing / user feedback based on an early build.

Yeah I saw that before, remember him saying something about alpha now. Must've been a mix of the team and previous high paying patron's is my guess, since the pre-alpha would've been early days or even before the kickstarter.

Because most of the time who's in the lead takes decision, takes decision on which way things must be made and this means in every way possible: be artistical, be gameplay and so on. And since those are FOW are just good with making movies (and they're not even remotely good and there are others, far more better than them - who works even as a "soloist" - who yes, makes short videos of 5 minutes or 10 but the quality there is much, much more enjoyable than theirs) I clearly see this as a failure. Even I can, with appropriate knowledge of course, can make a trailer that looks so gorgeous, so beautiful, so entertaining. And always talking about others developers even AAA, you know what I'm talking about. Lots of trailer games were made incredibly but the.. execution of that said in the end was downsampled and so on, with the game being much more less enjoyable (graphically and sometimes even gameplay speaking) than the original version shared with the world.

So again, you can make wonderful trailer, you can make wonderful arts but if the one who's in charge doesn't really know much about how things works (and again, they have just made movies until now. That's why I don't expect a mindblowing porn game from them the first time they try to do this. And this is why I'll say that it will be most likely.. let's be optimistic here and change, 90% of failure and 10% of success), he can simply screw up things. Artist and such, again, knows what they're doing but it's the "how" that is much more important.
Also, the "sketch" that someone on /aco/ shared about that.. tentacle girl? Squid girl? Don't remember, wasn't really that great. And again, what most of them pointed out, the chars showed so far, lacks completely of interest and watching at them closely and repeatedly, honestly, doesn't really arouses me that much. Any of them. Maaaybe just the one with the horns a little, but that's it.

You realize most of that is just conjecture formed from a personal bias against the studio and a pretty large misunderstanding of what a project lead's job actually entails, right? Studio FOW's content might not be to your tastes but it is objectively wrong to say it's not good since they're one of the most well known and popular indie adult animation studios out there, and a project lead actually doesn't, and can't, do most of the stuff you outlined at all, instead you took several completely different positions and mashed them together.

You are right in that an animation studio probably lacks the ability to design a good game, but since it's a porn game they don't need that particular skill set anyways since the game design is almost irrelevant. Their only concerns are outlining a basic premise for their outsourced teams to fill in the blanks with, making sure the gameplay properly functions as a vehicle to move from scene to scene, and producing scenes that meet the standard of quality they're setting for themselves.

So, good news. They have reach the 400K goal and the new (and probably) final milestone... that is add Fow-Chan to the game.
A new character is awsome, really, and for those who are fan and follow StudioFow this milestone is pretty excited XD. Fow-chan is teasing everyone for years now.
The bad side is that if you already are a fan of the developers, and had the money, you probably already have support the project. So I don't expect that will be easy to reach the 550K goal.
But, it is still a new character, which will add a hole new set of story, quests, scenes, costumes, and I hope this is enough to help more people to back the project.
I really want to see Fow-Chan in the game now...
Now, other topic. The game seems that is going to be massive, specially reaching this new goal. I wonder how much time it will take to the full release. I hope they don't rush things up.

Partly it's because of a bias against them, partly because it's the truth in the end. Doesn't mean anything that they're the most well-known and popular, if you don't do things good, don't do that at all or learn well enough. Personally speaking if I had been a patreon of them I would've probably quitted already after what they end up creating with the Kunoichi series and other stuff: and mind you, I'm talking about the quality I'm not talking about the "theme" because rape, monsters and such it's not my favorite kind of thing (monster mostly. Rape I can deal with it with no problem) but I don't even mind them in the end. It's the whole.. graphic side of it that is bad. So bad. Terribly bad. And even some animations about penetrations and such are horribly bad and you can't deny that, nor say that is my personal bias here. It's the truth (and I'm not talking about the cum texture itself. Generally speaking). And I said that because the lead, again, is what decide what to do first. He can decide that graphics must be done first, can decide if gameplay must be done first, can decide if a kind of artstyle is fine for the game itself or not. Can decided easily if giving up on the project or not and so taking just the money he earn and run away. Simple as that.

It's a porn game and they don't need a particular skill set? Wrong, again. If you think this way, then even I that I don't know anything can start making something as long as I have a decent story in mind? Would you really play something like that? Don't think so. I didn't see the trailer that they showed, but if it's something compared to AAA trailers and such.. tell me once again, they don't need skills? What, they used that skills once and never again? Now imagine all of those animations that they made thus far, imagine the graphics most of all made thus far. True, maybe right now they'll work with Unreal or maybe Unity for a better quality but remains the fact that they don't know shit about that because they mostly worked so far with.. pardon me but I really don't know much about this stuff but I think it's.. blender? Or another thing like that? I honestly don't remember, and if that program makes those kind of quality without possibilities of improving, do you really think that they can make something good from programs that they don't know anything about it? And even if they start learning or already did that, do you firmly believe based on their skills that they can pull out something worth playing? Eh.

But anyway, of course this is just my personal opinion and others can have 100% faith in them but I honestly don't. So.. before this, let's see if this game will be even released in the first place and if it's just not something made to milk money from people. Then we can talk about the game itself.

To be honest. I enjoy all of their movies except the last one kunoichi 3. The last fews movie still have very good animations and voice acting. They start making movie more vanilla (no hardcore, rape, beastality stuff...etc) around mid 2018 at the same time patreon introduced new rule regarding adult content. So I think they are doing it on purpose to stay on patreon but it look like they didn't try hard enough.
