I would still played it if this mc was anything like stormside mc. But this guy is annoying. Atem should change his plans from harem to hard ntr because I want to see him lose and cucked
It's possible that the game won't launch for you because it's running on RenPy 8.I've tried opening the exe file with the virus scanner disabled. Won't open.
Would that be the same as the exception list?
Or do you mean an exception to the firewall? Is the game trying to connect to the internet before it opens?
exact same thing for meI'm running windows 10 on an older laptop.
Downloaded the game from where you had success.
Extracted using 7 zip.
Double click on exe file.
Windows Defender arises with a warning. I tell it to proceed anyway.
Nothing.
No log file generated.
I go to task manager. No exe associated with the game is running.
My guess is that the game depends on a system file, or perhaps on a specific video or audio file, that is not loaded on all windows computers. But solving an issue like that is beyond my knowledge.

Tried just now to run Stormside 23.1.4 by the same developer.
It opens just fine.
what the fuck should this mean? we have to update renpy on our computer or something like that? It's possible that the game won't launch for you because it's running on RenPy 8.![]()
Yes, it requires Windows 10, but it's unclear which version is required.what the fuck should this mean? we have to update renpy on our computer or something like that?
I'm using windows 10, this kinda thing also happened to me with another renpy game here, Love & Jealousy, it's weird afYes, it requires Windows 10, but it's unclear which version is required.
This is my guess![]()

Also.I'm running Windows 10 version 22H2
I followed your directions and checked the Unicode UTF-8 box. (It was unchecked.)I'll try this option, maybe it'll help.
You need to enable UTF-8 encoding in Windows 10 (Start -> Settings -> Time & Language -> Language -> Administrative language options -> Advanced tab -> check the box next to "Beta build: Use Unicode (UTF-8) to support languages worldwide."
is it giving you an error?I followed your directions and checked the Unicode UTF-8 box. (It was unchecked.)
Then tried to open the game.
Still nothing.
But I'm guessing it's something subtle like this. Maybe an intel chip versus an AMD chip. Or something in the windows 10 version that hasn't been activated and needs to be.
But someone in this thread said it wasn't running for him, and he was running windows 11.
My only relief is that others are having this problem too, because I was suspecting something in the registry of my computer was broken. That's not the problem since others are having the same issue.
I'm pretty sure I've successfully run other games that are using renpy 8 . . . because I've played a few new demo renpy games recently, and they ran.
No error, no log file generated, nothing.is it giving you an error?
try opening task manager before you open the game and see if it shows up and then shuts down automatically, have you tried to run it as admin? and can you check the appdata to see if it created a folder thereNo error, no log file generated, nothing.
I double click the exe file. Windows defender pops up. I tell Windows to run the game anyway. This happens with most games from independent developers, so that's normal.
Then I wait, and wait . . . and nothing happens at all.
I open task manager, and double click the game's exe file . . . and nothing shows on task manager.
Thanks for these suggestions.try opening task manager before you open the game and see if it shows up and then shuts down automatically, have you tried to run it as admin? and can you check the appdata to see if it created a folder there
hm... this could be some temp file in your system.. has your windows done any update as of late? you could try using the disk cleanup, if this dosent do anything it could be your firewall blocking it from being open... could be a problem with your drives or it could be a hardware problem if your pc is old enough your ram could be faulty or your cpu overheating but i would almost certainly rule out the hardware problems, but just in case check the cpu tempThanks for these suggestions.

Ok, I opened task manager before opening the game.
Double click on the exe file.
Studio hearts appears in task manager for four seconds, then vanishes.
The game doesn't open; nothing.
After waiting for a while, I double click the exe file again; this time nothing appears in task manager.
----
I checked the appdata folders. No folder for studio hearts.

I haven't tried running as an administrator, and am not sure it's safe to do that. Do I really want to allow this game to make changes to my system?? I haven't had to run any other renpy game as an administrator.
yes, but I'm not the only one having this same issue, so I think it's related to the game itself, or to the game requiring something in windows that hasn't been loaded on all windows machineshm... this could be some temp file in your system.. has your windows done any update as of late? you could try using the disk cleanup, if this dosent do anything it could be your firewall blocking it from being open... could be a problem with your drives or it could be a hardware problem if your pc is old enough your ram could be faulty or your cpu overheating but i would almost certainly rule out the hardware problems, but just in case check the cpu temp

i dont think the game tries to connect to the internetyes, but I'm not the only one having this same issue, so I think it's related to the game itself, or to the game requiring something in windows that hasn't been loaded on all windows machines
It is possible that, if the game is trying to connect to the internet when it opens, my firewall is blocking it. Is the game trying to connect to the internet, and why would it? For google ads or something like that?
this has to be software related... did you download the original file or the compressed?Used disk cleapup to delete 4 gb of temporary files and other unnecessary files.
Tried again to run the exe for this game.
Nothing.
----------
No recent windows updates. All other games from f95 that I've downloaded recently, about ten of them, are opening as normal.
Tried both. Also tried both with and without the patch.i dont think the game tries to connect to the internet
