Some of them were custom made. Others, like some of the enemy ground units, are stock assets one can buy from asset stores for Unreal Engine games. They even have some of the enemies joke about how they were "much stronger in the other games they were in" at the beginning of the game.

I'm not saying that is the issue, however optimization seems to be in a bad state currently. We'll see where it goes in future, however if this isn't made an issue, the performance issues could get severely out of hand if this isn't nipped in the bud now.

The porn aspect of Subverse is a complete joke. It's like developers never played a porn game in their life. After the initial sex scene you get NO sex in the story. You can't even flirt with girls via dialogs. Everything is just in a Pandora mode which is just a Gallery mode pretty much. But Gallery is usually just a bonus thing to rewatch the stuff you unlocked in the main game, here's it's THE porn expirience you're getting.
The scenes themselves are just short loops without any interactivity. You can find plenty of these on any r34 site.

The whole point of making a porn game is to provide the context to the scenes. To add buildup and dialogs. Subverse has nothing of it. And it looks like they don't even want to change anything, their mod on Steam forums just keep talking some bullshit on how it's super hard to implement sex in the story, like wtf? Are these guys even serious? It's hard to integrate sex scenes in a porn game?..

After first 30 minutes of playing I was extremely close to buying the game but after one more hour I realised that there's absolutely nothing. Instead of focusing on lewd stuff and fill the game with sex they put the sex into some weird bonus Pandora mode and actual game is just grind grind words words words grind grind words words words, rinse and repeat.

Their amusing little setting started to get really annoying on how much attention they give to all the characters and stuff. This stuff should be complementary to the porn ffs not the main focus.

I honestly don't expect anything good out of it after reading the forums and how their mod is defending absolute shit which is Pandora. They clearly don't want to change anything and try and make an actual porn game out of it and just want to add more cringy dialogs and 3s animation loops and that's it.

Man this game is disappointing. 90% childish dialogue that goes on forever, 9.9% uninspired gameplay, .1% short porn animations that are really boring for StuioFOW.

So for my overall impression of the game. I enjoyed it.

It isn't some masterpiece of porn, but I will admit I've never really been able to enjoy most porn games. Evenicle is the only one I REALLY liked, others are tolerable, and thinking about it Subverse actually kinda has a lot of the same vibe as Evenicle does, which is probably part of the reason I enjoy it.

The space and ground portions of the game are simple, but its a porn game. I've already seen people complaining that many of the space/ground battles were too hard. So making them actually super difficult would just get in the way of enjoying the game. Compared to RPGmaker games it isn't as boring, and compared to other porngames that have you do minigames like "pull up weeds" this is actual enjoyable gameplay.

On one hand I understand why some people don't like the porn scenes not being integrated into the main narrative, on the other hand, one of the biggest problems I've always had with porn games is wanting to see a character get railed in a specific way, but because that wasn't the way the plot went it never happened. This honestly opens up far more possibilities for ways for the girls to get fucked, which is why I'm playing these games in the first place.

The writing, characters, and general tone, is very laid back, and refreshing compared to how many porn games try to act like they are some hard drama, when they aren't. I can just sit here an enjoy the game.

Ya Studio FOW could learn a lot by checking out games like "Being A DIK" or "City of Broken Dreamers" for how to properly implement sex in a properly flowing narrative while also giving the player choices to engage them in it.

Ohh please no.

Wild Life does that thing that most dynamic scene change games do where characters either slide around like everything is made out of ice, or teleport/clip through the other character they are fucking when trying to change position. Its the biggest boner killer.

And having to try to move the camera into a decent looking position, but also having to fight how close/far you can get from the characters, means I have to spend more time fiddling with the control then actually being able to enjoy the looping 5 second animation.

well that was bad... a game being a porn game donst automatically mean that everything is a joke, and if the tone is "funny" that donst mean it have to be absurd too, i dont even know what the game is trying to do... turn u off? they have to go back to hiring cause that writer sure donst know shit about what he is doing, he trhow 4 th wall break comments like candys, is like everyone in the game is Deadpool... and the character is bad enough with that silly mask, no need for the cute gesture´s and akward interactions... off and that is just the first 10 mins of game, i just cant keep playing it, its a fking cringe fest.

You know, for what it's worth, this is still one of the better porn games out there. That's a damning with faint praise take considering 99% of the "finished" ones are kind of trash or super short in content but overall this is genuinely pretty okay so far. I genuinely enjoy both of the game modes so far. The voice acting sounds okay enough by porn game standards and visuals' polish rivals that of an Illusion game or the Fallen Doll/Project Lovecraft devs.

My only real gripe so far is that, as much as it overall is fairly enjoyable for what it is so far, the writing did make me go "Who is this even for," at various points. The constant 4th wall breaks and dead meme spouting feels like the game was written by a cynical old man trying to appeal to the young adults of this generation and the commentary + satire the game make it feel like this game is going to become a ticking timebomb of controversies from all sides as development of this project progresses.

While I'm at it, I think "how much game should a porn game actually have" is a catch 22 kind of discussion. I've seen people here complain about Illusion's games, which tend to focus on the porn more than actual gameplay, being "more of the same." I personally feel what we have so far has potential to be pretty good in both departments in spite of the faults people are pointing out here and as far as porn games go that's pretty damn good in my book.

If you are looking for actual NTR, there is none. If you think non contextual gifs of girls using monsters as masturbatory aid is NTR, well, maybe there is. You certainly won't see any NTR narrative though. In fact, you won't see any context period for any of the scenes.

to be honest, I finished playing because of the space combat, which is more fun than ground one or the pandora system. There aren't many choices that could be made, but the combat is at least challenging and satisfying.
