Well, it's not all that bad, but it certainly have room for constructive criticism.Pretty shit game tbh.
The game play is a bit lacking in a various aspects.
It's not exactly terrible, but it's a bit towards mediocre.
There's nothing rly that special or innovative about it, not that it needs to be, tho it's still miles better than what many such games offers. At least it isn't that broken.
With that said, especially given that the game is on Steam, I wouldn't agree with the "it's a porn game, what do you expect" argument.
The space combat especially could've been way better.
The view / perspective is very badly done, most of the time you don't have any visibility and it ends up being "hackish" and not so much as an intended "feature" of the gameplay mechanic.
They could easily have gone wild with this one, without much more effort tbh.
Both if they decided to just make a better isometric perspective or/and if they implemented stuff like 'changing perspectives' (been done before, entirely doable) given the game is already 3D based anyways and it still would've played on a "2D field" regardless.
Another criticism I personally have is the lack of customization of your weapons.
And this isn't like a "hard to implement" feature, they just haven't even thought about it... (it's been around since Contra ffs!).
You could have at least a few types of main cannon, I don't rly like the "sluggish" type of shots, have to constantly re-adjust sand 'lead' your shots. I'd much rather some "lazer" type of shots rather than the "plasma-esque" slobs you're forced to deal with.
A game should be fun, this one in particular...
I don't mind higher difficulty/complexity and I enjoy a good challenge, but before all I want to be able to have fun.
I much prefer the ground combat tho that could also be improved.
The "Special form" is a bit, "whatever", if there were longer battles where it could've been practically useful or it took more like 2 turns (maybe with increased dmg taken) instead, that would make more sense. As of now, it's more like "variety".
There are other stuff that could be worked on too.
Overall, the game lacks a bit of "roaming / grinding" for me and stuff to do side ways, but maybe that's just my take on the game.
They've also "overdid it" with the dialogues, I mean I just wanna kill stuff and unlock more content.
I don't care about the "overly convoluted plot" that's not even "that deep" to begin with and can't decide on whether it wants to lean more towards parody or be an actual drama.
Maybe I sound a bit harsh here, I don't mean it's rly that bad, I still enjoyed it I guess, but some dialogue sequences I found rly tedious and way overextended. Like I'm here sitting for more than 5 minutes waiting for all the characters of the game take their turns and it's been 15 minutes until we get back to the gameplay, it could've been paced better, in smaller segments maybe, to say the least.
The humor also didn't always lend with me.
On many instances it ends up as "trying too hard" or too "on the nose", which doesn't work that welll due to the lack of "contrast" so to say.
It's a bit "hard" to land a "dick joke", when you're constantly surrounded by "dick-shaped" spaceships and stuff if you get my point.
Tho it's not just that, some of the jokes are just "bland".
It's not an easy task to do a good game, even if it's a parody themed, which is not necessary easier to do.
It's not a bad job, considering this is their first and likely only game as far as the rumors go and they have no previous experience in the field other than the 3D modeling and VFX.
The "meat" of the game also could've been a bit better, in terms of interactivity or relationship depth.
The short loops becomes old quickly and you don't have much of an interaction during the ones with a "happy ending".
The relationships are basically non-existent in terms of evolution or any other aspect beyond being stuck at a "promising potential".
I know it's just a "parody fap" game, but still, especially considering all the (imo) virtually unnecessary content in terms of dialogues and "plot", might've as well focused instead on more "intimate relationship" between the various characters. Or had some more and 'meaningful' side stories you could explore and your relationship actually meaning something.
But again, I guess maybe that's overambitious, tho the potential is there and it rly wouldn't be all THAT hard to pull it off.
Some dialogue scenes (hopefully not so much of a Congressional speech type) and some few more combat levels.
I'm surprised they've went for so much "cartoonie" look instead something more "realistic", given they are pretty good at that.
With some more leaning on the cut-scenes (instead the Ren'py / VN type of dialogue) they could've really made something much more effective.
I mean, even with the same level of gameplay, getting to a much more "spectacular" cinematic cut scene would've been greatly effective.
I'm glad that they at least made the character's lips move.
That was rly off putting for some reason. xD
