You’re very much misinterpreting my words and that’s a thing that happens far too much.It doesn't matter where you look but the universal complaint are the context less sex scenes that make 90% of all scenes and even Mr. Weeaboo here who holds the flag up for the game can't deny that. But he seems fine with it and can't see the problem.
That's fine I guess. I am glad that at least he has his fun with the game.
I knew from the get go people were gonna haaaate the initial launch. Then when the midway development change and only the new ladies got scenes I knew that would suck for the fans of certain ladies.
But I have to look at it realistically and try to see it from their side of things. They have a limited budget. They have no Patreon. Whether you want to say they should’ve just taken in more money is besides the point, they chose not to because it would bloat their goals and extend the wait even longer. The script was done before EA even began.
The story alone is already long, it being fully voice acted will make it feel even more so, since it isn’t just a bunch of soundless text. Full cinematic scenes also add to that. Yet the demand for 290+ scenes to be also crammed into it and given context is somehow the solution for many people.
Nevermind that team members leaving the project around midway drastically hurt development, leaving remaining ones to take on multiple roles (see the credits for examples), reducing the amount we could have seen, what you and so many others are asking for was not feasible. If they had all the time and money in the world, sure. I find it also ironic that the same crowd that thought they would sit on this project and milk it to high heaven are also the same type to ask for things that would have extended its development.
I would be happy if they had that. To not have to constantly defend this from a business standpoint, because FOW is an actual business, not just a bunch of singular animators working a side gig while having a 9-5, this is their 9-5. This had to be done, the priority had to be to finish the story and mark this as complete.
I wish they all had the same amount of scenes, shit for the longest time I was believing we’d see 40 for each gal to fill out the spaces that was in the builds up to now. While I’m not as bummed out because my favorite ladies happened to have some of the highest, I know Taron fans are, I know huntress fans are. They had to play the hand they were dealt, but we still got to the finish line.
By no means am I saying this game is perfect, I would not give it a 5/5, 10/10, paid IGN review. But that does not mean that what we got isn’t still so much better than the mass of Renpy titles, the RPGM series of games with 2D art to have a bunch of text overlay with generic moans and sounds. The titles that have been in development since before their Patreon ended (2018 if you want to check) and are still marked incomplete on this website.
Lastly regarding the characters that didn’t get any action: Kasidora was never gonna be lewded. This was known from the get-go. Her casting call specified it was a SFW role. If you didn’t know, now you do.
As for the Empress I’m gonna copy over what I wrote in discord, as believe it or not there are also people there also disappointed that the character the developers have stated was not a waifu for years didnt end up being a waifu:
Celestina is still an innocent adult learning about this world. She only *just* cooperated with the captain and the crew. It wouldn’t be logical to immediately expect her to give up her virginity. Her and Captain hold hands (aka the real lewd thing if you remember the first trailer’s humorous line about handholding), so if anything they’re just starting a relationship. It’s like how in the first Austin Powers movie, despite all the flirting he does, he doesn’t have sex with Vanessa until they end up married. For now they’re looking to the future as are we all. Kasidora is still alive and likely won’t take kindly to her choice. We’ll just have to wait and see what comes next.
I don’t know the future, but I know there’s still more content to come, there’s translations to do that’ll help bring in more fans and revenue, and there’s a lot of more gaming ladies in the world to make parody films of now.
Time marches on. Your opinions are yours, and I understand them, I do. Especially as someone who saw all of this first and could see exactly who it would tick off (again see the credits for why)
I’m just gonna reply to those asking game-related questions, as I really don’t wish to repeat this again. We can’t change how we got here or what we got. What if doesn’t do anything, what comes next is more important.
