I gonna agree here but if you read his review than re read his section about Pandora.

It is not about having "just" loopable gifs. It is about not having porn integrated in the story or even game mechanics. If you had both, like organically seeing some scenes during the story and not just the recruitment and devotion scenes, which only take up like 5% of the whole game and unlockables in pandora (the mantic scenes for example) no one....let me repeat myself. No one would have bat an eye.

Or if you are unable to come up with an idea to have that during the story than at least make it, like Federok88 mentioned before me, more interactive. I mean you can already talk to the girls and go on dates with them. Why not give the player a reward for choosing the right gift or dialogue option with a sex scene.
Have smaller side missions for the girls that gives you a scene. (Would make grind the anomalys way more fun to be honest).
Every 10 levels the girl visits you in your chambers and have sex with the MC.
Stumble about a scene by chance while clicking through the room on the ship. (The lab from Lily is a prime candidate to implement the mantic scenes.)

Things like this I brainstorm in minutes and the dev team seemed to be incapable of implementing xD Porn Game 101 stuff to be honest.
Case in point of budget. I believe not every line needed to be voiced that would have give leeway for exactly these things.

It is the complete lack of context that bothers the majority of folks.

Let me quote some lines from his review:
" While the copious amount of sex the crew allegedly have with each other is heavily referenced in dialogue amongst themselves and with the people the crew encounter, it's not accessed naturally enough for me to believe it's actually happening outside of Pandora, the scene viewer, or the occasional pre-rendered cutscene"

and

"Grinding missions to level the waifus in order to buy sexy loops is one of the least engaging ways to integrate sex into a video game I have ever encountered"

I hope that cleared things up about your question because you were a bit off about the complaints here. At least I hope you wanted an honest answer to that and not just trolling.

Naw this is perfect homie I would had settled for less I get that frustration from people but I guess I have been familiar with StudioFoW enough to know what I was gonna get from them I agree them putting more "Effort" into the interactivity and the lead up but part of me feels like behind the scenes they gave themselves hard deadlines and thus hurt them but this is me head cannoning on why it just didn't flesh out the way we hoped idk but appreciate the response to be fair I was writing and reading that shit at like 6am on a 2 day no sleep marathon because of work with that dreaded deadline approaching next week.

I've got to say the bodywriting feature is hot, as are the devotion outfits. Hope someone does all the pandora scenes with them and the devotion outfits one day. I would but I don't have a PC. Some screenshots I found people sharing of it.

Finished the game and few devotion quests.
1.0 sure is kinda disappointing. Almost everything they added is meh and things they changed are worse than before.

- New Pandora screen is just ugly. Why scenes' icons are colorless now? It's so much harder to find the scene you want. Why change it, it was fine before.
- Tactical Combat completely lack ANY challenge now. Removing individual leveling was a good idea but it seems they forgot to balance the game after that decision. 99% of the fights I finished by just picking same mantics and just attacking enemies. No tactic, no planning, nothing. It worked since enemies just die in one or two hits now. I never even used DEVA mode and I don't even know how to activate it. I'm not really saying I wanted this "game" to be hard but the x-com part is SO easy I hardly see any point to play it at all. Shmup part is at least fun if repetitive.
- Audio tapes are meh. Audio tapes were already a bad videogame trope like 10 years ago. Why add something like that in Subverse? Why not have a girl talking lewd stuff to you while being ON FUCKING SCREEN. Useless bar gift part of the game could've been used for those lewd dialogs, maybe custom scenes. Why fucking tapes? So dumb. Also, half of those are just more of le funny space humor, like you didn't get enough of that in the main game.
- Outfit change feature is kinda bad. It's either a recolor or some meh looking outfit which clips and bends during Pandora animations. Looks really cheap, like why even add something like that? Also, WHY THE FUCK there's no option for Demi to show nipples or for Huntress to remove the helmet? At first I thought they gonna play the Tali card like "use your imagination for Huntress" but no, she removes her helmet in her Devotion reward video. So why not as option for lvl40 Devotion outfit? Isn't it like a perfect reward for the grind? Instead of adding all those pointless poorly looking recolors they could've add an actual alternative to base look. But nope.
- Devotion videos. What's the point of making a game if you make porn as a video file? 10 second loops were already bad but at the very least they were rendered ingame which allowed for SOME interactivity with camera movement and VR (via UE injectors). These videos are just... videos. Begs the question why Subverse wasn't just a porn movie to begin with.
- Story final is boring and disappointing. You just kill the guy and... that's it. Where the hell is your final reward aka Celestina? What was so hard about adding her to the ship and giving her few Pandora scenes? Why tease her for years only to never make any lewd content with her and deny players of the final reward? Like seriously, what the hell? She was even present in loading screens among other girls but they removed those loading screens in 1.0 (and new loading screens are way worse btw). No sex with Celestina is easily the most disappointing part of 1.0 for me.

Kinda sad honestly. Game does have some good moments and I wish it had more meaningful content. The potential is there but the team doesn't have a proper vision to fully realise that potential.
You just saved me 10 minutes of venting

All jokes aside though, the ''finished'' game turned out to be such a disappointment.

This whole game could have been a video series and it would have been better off. The point of making a game is to make the characters more interactable and thus more immersive, which this GIF viewer of game failed terribly at.

Remember to vote with your wallets on their next project.

Wish they completely focused on the mantics content and intergeate it perfectly with the plot, the sex scenes, the character animations on the train...

I came back after 3 years to give this one another go as I had hopium this game will surprise me in v1.0. In the end, I was pleasantly... disappointed. I am changing my review from decent to sub-par. They didn't even bother to improve and add upon the existing game mechanics. It's like "Hey! Let's just ignore the game's foundation and add more fluff pieces!"

The Devotion Quests are meh, most of the erotic scenes are still outside of the story, character interaction is still minimum outside of the main plot, ground combat is braindead X-COM, space combat is repetitive chore, ship upgrades are literal tiny 5% number boost, loading screens almost everywhere even talking to crewmates, the writing is god awful cringey, and there is ZERO actual exploration(all of the extra planets are just text boxes).

I like the FuccBot idea as a fresh fun spin on rogue AI, I like the character designs(Demi, Killison, and Elaisha), the voice actors clearly had fun, and there is a decent foundation of world-building. But it is damaged by uninspired combat, dissonance between inside and outside of main plot, lacklustre upgrade and reward system, vapid lack of exploration in a sci-fi adventure, and loading screens everywhere.

I actually had more fun with Starfield with/without mods because at least I can physically pretend that I am in a sci-fi setting. The best I can describe this game is a glorified VN. It makes a parody of Mass Effect and its famous romance gameplay, yet they put little to no effort onto why Mass Effect's romance and companion system is beloved. I am sorry if I sound harsh, but this was a porn game that propped itself up as the "first" AAA high production game by its own developers. I am thoroughly disappointed.

not every sex scene is in the gallery inside the game, some videos are in the folders but everything else is locked. for example in one of the video files there's a scene where all the waifus are fucked at a party by random people. or maybe that's all, maybe the Devotion quests end with a short video.

is there a way to extract pak files and get access to the entire video files?
