I don't think money went to waste. Good voice acting for everything alone would had cost a fortune.

Did we find out if they planned to add in dialogue to the sex scenes and make them connected to story elements?
Yeah! I think people would complain a lot less if the pandora system wasn't a thing. It's a shame, too, because it wasn't all that hard to make things happen. The mantic sex scenes could happen as you upgrade them with bio or something - that seems to be even part of the lore. The only sex that happens through the game is the recruitment one and besides barely making any sense it's also pretty boring.
At the same time, since they're dealing with people who have weak dicks which instantly retract like a turtle as soon as anything beyond their comfort zone appears, the pandora system could be considered a genius move. On a lot of other threads here you see guys saying "omg! it showed a male butthole for 0.01 seconds! 1 star! fuck this gay shit! I'm not touching it even though I'd love the 99.9% of the other content!", with the pandora system they can just make sure their weak peepees don't have to get soft over anything unexpected, since you get to make the choice freely. It's probably a good approach for selling on Steam.
But I just like my porn game to connect the porn to the game you know? That's pretty much one of the most important things for me. I think I had more fun with some awful twine games just because they correctly connected everything.
Both the vertical scroller and the tactics parts are pretty good indie-level games on their own right, though, if they get developed further (ship combat customization + troop upgrades) those two should become super good later on. For a first attempt this is really really good.
yeah, iirc this is the final concept of the game and what they're adding next is just more scenes and complete the story.

With the same amont of money we could talk about adeptus steve and his game "wildlife" too.
Since March 2019 (date of Subverse Kickstarter) he got about 1,7 millions dollars on Patreon and the latest released build is nothing more than a barebone tech demo.
So Subverse situation's is not really surprising.
That's a shame. Part of the biggest sell of adult games is the hot stuff in relation to the story happening around it. Also seems a shame to not have the VAs use their full talents on (arguably) the biggest part of the game.

I knew this game was gonna be a failure
It's not even funny, how right I was when I first saw this...
Heck even open world gallery mode game called : Wildlife, has more chances than this.
I can always turn on and play Xcom or Touhou (for gameplay) and watch sfm videos for actual "porn".
Another disappointment hits the market, well atleast they got loads of money, maybe their animations will improve, cuz theres plenty of competition already out there to catch up.
GG studio Fow you went from best to crap in 2 years, should have just sticked with animation production instead

Well, that was disappointing as fuck...
Nothing in that game can stand on its own.
For the gameplay there are 2 boring mini games: poor man's Star Control clone and a halfassed, tedious xcom clon.
For porn there are just a few short porn loops rendered in game's engine with no context to the game's story whatsoever...fucking why?
If I was a kikestarter backer i would be pissed now. 2 Mils for that kind of crap?
Saw this coming though. I knew the game would suck anyway the moment they decided to sell the game on steam, since valve has the retarded policies like consensual sex between 3D characters and only allows glamour sex crap with barely any fetishes.
