I'm clearly no expert, but wouldn't that problem also occur with trimmed pubes? Trimmed grows back just like shaved right? So the part that were shaved off to obtain that heart shape will also grow back and be like paper cut too right? What's the difference?

Coverage, mainly. The more area is shaved the more area is growing back in those tiny, prickly hairs. That's why waxing has become so popular for people trying to really get rid of everything for a while.
