MC received the death threat for receiving the money from Officer Lainey. It can be that the thing Cassandra stole from Kate’s room for Lainey was the students’ data which include MC’s number. Lainey just happened to use him out of all the students. She’s gonna blackmail MC to spy on Miller so that she can arrest him and bring him in for questioning about what goes on in Club Freya.
Helen doesn’t even know MC’s number, he gave it only to Bree. Besides Bree only Mike, Mia and Kate know it. And it was a follower of the runner girl who leaked Eve’s insta.
I don't think officer big tits intends to blackmail MC, I think she just got MC drunk to make it a lot easier to use him for whatever it is that she has planned. MC probably wouldn't have agreed to take that money in the club had he been sober imo.

more than a bit slower than expected, id say.
Yep, slower than expected.
End of April or early May for the release, most likely.

Northpx maybe I just missed it but any details on the rough scale of the update? Smaller than 0.5 I expect, but is it closer to that or to 0.4?
Much closer to 0.4 than 0.5. (y)

What we can basically derive from this is Naughty Fox Games still struggles to scale up the content/time ratio, which is not ideal but it's also not the end of the world.

Render speed *should* have improved with the new rig (which isn't really new by now), so there are bottlenecks elsewhere. Learning to remove bottlenecks without hindering the quality of the end product is by no means an easy task for a small team with limited resources (and therefore without the option of acquiring more hands to get on the project), but hopefully Northpx have a few leads.

For my personal opinion, Summer Heat is still on the right side of the content/time ratio if you account for the quality of the delivered product, so again I don't think it's the end of the world. But they'll need to scale that ratio up at some point, especially when branching storylines become a thing.

No, the death threat comes at the same time that Mia takes out the cash that Lainey gave MC, there is however no reason the believe that they are related, and there is no reason to believe that Cassandra stole anything for Lainey. Helen however has repeatedly acted in a manner that is both underhanded as well as hinted at her being the one who leaked Eve's socials, by all likelihood Helen stole the folder with the student information while the other students were doing PE. And if you look at the post where Eve's insta is leaked it's from an anonymous account, if it were from some random online there's no reason for them to make a new account to leak said information, Helen however would get into trouble and as such has motive for wanting to remain anonymous.

Lainey wants to use MC to spy on Miller, or potentially if MC is non-compliant have MC involved in shady shit so that she can use that as leverage against MC or Miller, since Miller and MC seem to be tight for whatever reason, furthermore it's more likely that Lainey and her partner are corrupt and are involved in whatever goes on at club Freya, which is why Miller doesn't want MC to talk to them, chances are that they are being paid to work as enforcement for whatever criminal runs club Freya, which is why Lainey is both well known and treated well by the employees at the club and Jenni, and why she is able to put all of the "champagne rooms" and a ridiculous amount of drinks and a lap dance from the dancer on her tab without anyone asking any questions. Remember Miller is an ex-cop, and he's most likely not happy about being involved with criminals, having people to put pressure on him is a good way of ensuring compliance.

There is absolutely no reason to believe that the death threat MC receives is related to his activities at club Freya, or has anything to do with Lainey, the most logical thing to assume is that it is the same people who are making death threats to Eve, and that MC's socials have also been leaked by the same person (Helen). The developers chose to insert the death threat at the same time as Mia takes out the money to create a sense of urgency, which can be used to drive narrative, MC is going to be upset and assume that they are related, but it will later be shown that they are not.

This is the way....unless it's all misdirection and the devs are plotting some amazing twist down the road

It’s funny you think it’s Helen, she’s the obvious target. Mike assumes it’s her ffs, that should be enough to tell you it’s not her. Cassandra is the thief, Kate hints she’s trouble, she was the only person upstairs at the time with MC and Helen and it provides great drama with Kate and Miller. There’s no drama for Helen, just a madwoman, that story would suck ass.

Lainey gets treated well (actually not, the bartender girl is very despondent to her) at Freya cause she’s a big fish in town and the owners told her to keep a good appearance. It was Miller who spent hours with who knows who, not her. She was trying to pry in his shady business at the club until she met us.

Nothing’s logical about that actually, how do you think the plot would evolve if it was simply some unknown crazy white knight? It will be related to Club Freya yes, it’s the focal point of the game till now. Again, what version would make for a better story?

Helen is not a target at all, she's a duplicitous cunt who likes fucking with people, that's essentially how she presents herself, she's even the one to tell Eve and MC that they're insta famous. There's literally no reason to think that Cassandra is the thief, other than that you think it would be a cool story, I honestly find it convoluted and kind of retarded, there's no link between Cassandra and Lainey, there's no basis for making an assumption that there is any connection.

Miller himself heavily insinuates that Lainey and her partner are corrupt, when they pull Miller over he says that MC "should talk to cops, just not these cops", which means what? And the bartender girl acts that way towards everyone, except that girl in yellow, she even treats the daughter (Jenni) of the criminal who runs Freya with overt disdain.

I think there wouldn't be any plot development if it was some random white knight, which is why it's only logical to assume it's Helen, which will provide plot development. And club Freya is going to be important, yes, good of you to notice that.

The one that would make for a better story is obviously the one I'm proposing, since it's actually logical, would provide for good suspense and character drama, and it's not incoherent.

A cunt who wants to fuck with people sounds like a good story to you?
You don’t even explain why my version is incoherent while I provided reasonable theories based on things we can observe in the game. You instead made up a theory on the fly with the only thought that “she’s a cunt” who enjoys causing trouble, lame. There’s two suspects, Helen and Cassandra, Helen is just misdirection. You’ll see

It's part of the story, yes, it's something called an 'antagonist', something you attempt to provide in the form of a random internet white knight, for example. You also believe that would make for a better story than one of the characters that is already involved in the story, and knows the main character personally, which is strange, incoherent, and is an assumption that has no basis in any of the information that is provided in the game.

Your theories are not reasonable, you provide no reason as to how they're supposed to work, for an example you assume that Cassandra and Lainey are involved somehow, which is completely illogical and there's no evidence that would lead one to assume that they have any contact with one another.

You make up theories based on what I can only assume is schizophrenia, I provide a logical framework to explain the things that are happening provided the information we have access to, you make wild assumptions that are nonsensical, and have no evidence to back them up, and are from a storytelling point inferior as they both remove suspense, character drama, and force the introduction of new characters where they are unnecessary.

There literally exists no reason to suspect Cassandra, the fact that Helen (potentially) spied on MC banging her solidifies my point that she is an antagonist in the story.

As to Helen being a "cunt", it is not my conjecture, she is objectively a fucking cunt.

I’ll leave these here in case you don’t know (the last one rectifies the door thing in the 2nd).
If you have anything more than anon leaking Eve’s insta and the assumption that Helen wants to fuck with people for fun share it
Alright... Moving on.

Wouldn’t mind playing a flashback as Miller where we get to spend some time with the Hill sisters back in their younger days. Especially the other sister, Claire.

It's kind of interesting that Claire has a camera in her hands... I have a crazy theory but I'm not gonna disclose it.
We don’t know yet what happened to her but we can assume she’s dead due to Kate’s reaction.

If that’s the case Miller is partly responsible for it or at least he feels that way. It would explain why he’s grumpy and depressed, his tense relationship with Kate and possibly even why he got kicked out of the police.
It may very well be that Miller used to have a relationship with Claire and that her death is linked to the nightclub which is the crime center of Rosewood.

All of this means we have to get closer with Kate and Cassandra to learn more about the subject as to spread further light on the mystery surrounding the nightclub.
Also get closer with Officer Lainey… Although I wouldn’t trust her too much. We should play her, of course.
Of course the thief isn't Helen.

I know who it is.

Bear with me, guys.
This is gonna be quite a journey.

There's not been enough of the story yet to know whether the devs intend to have twists or whether the background story is going to be linear. If there's twists then it's unlikely that either Helen or Cassandra as they are both set up as obvious suspects already. If it's linear then it's likely to be Helen as she's been set up as the main suspect.

That’s the thing, Helen is set up as the obvious suspect but Cassandra isn’t in the slightest. You can logically assume it’s Cass only if you pay close attention to a few things over the game and connect the dots. That’s why I believe it’s her.

You provide nothing except conjecture, and your only argument is "but what you're saying is obvious", meaning that your argument is that when I look at evidence and draw logical conclusions based on said evidence it means that I am wrong, because it is the logical conclusion that one would draw from the evidence, you provide a circular argument against using reasoning based on evidence.

Exactly, all I've been saying is that from what is presented Helen is the perpetrator in the one case, and Lainey is a corrupt police officer. Jesus.
