Place them in the UserData\convert folders and then the game will automatically convert them when you next launch the game.

Same here. I keep running into the same issue every time I update from 1.1.3 to 1.9, the update appears to go through, but once I log in, the game is still stuck on 1.1.3
I followed the latest guide carefully, so it seems like there might be a step I overlooked or something missing from the instructions.
You are getting mixed up. The newest version of the game is 1.1.6.

1.9 refers to the HF patch. Run it after you update the game. The title screen does NOT state what HF patch is installed so don't worry about it.
I have a question. There's a possibility I'm just being an idiot and missing the setting toggle somewhere but are there subtitles for NPC to NPC conversations? Like there was in AA2? For example character A talks to character B and in AA2 what they're saying showed up at the top left of the screen. Is there an option for that in this game?
That's a mod for AA2, and afaik, there aren't any mod like that for SVS
I figured that may have been the case but I wasn't entirely sure. That's a shame but not that much of a big deal. I just prefer to know what's going on between the NPC's. Makes it so much easier to see when an NPC is chatting shit about the PC lol. Anyway thanks for the info, much appreciated!

what version of the game is this? my current installation from months ago is the 1.1.2. Is this one more recent?
I installed the game and installed the personalities dlc by drag and drop the contents from the setup folder and then I ran the HF patch v1.6 and installed it but my game still says 1.1.3 am i missing something?
Download from the button on the left, reinstall as you did with the drag&drop, that should leave you up-to-date
I think something went wrong, I installed the update now but when I try to launch the game it crashes before opening the game window
Should I uncheck something from the HF patch? cause after installing the update the game wont run so I tried to re-install the HF patch and after launching the game, the game version is reverted to 1.1.3
That shouldn't happen. The version is hardcoded in file 'DefaultData/system/version.dat' that is part of the patch that I linked you to. If you first unpack game, install personality pack by coping over and replacing files, then coping over and replacing files from patch's setup directory and as the last step installing HF Patch then you will have 1.1.6. If you have different version chances are you haven't installed patch into rigth directory or you overwritten it with old patch that is actually bundled with personality DLC, which is why I recommend to first install it before patch.
I made a new installation following your steps to make sure I did all properly. First I unpacked the game from the link in this thread and then installed the personality DLC by coping over and replacing files, after that I also copied over and replaced files from the update patch (everything in the setup directory, including the Game Assembly.dll and UnityPlayer.dll), after that I opened the version.dat from the 'DefaultData/system/version.dat' and it did show 1.1.6 but then the last step, I installed the HF patch that came from the game's folder "SamabakeScramble HF Patch v1.6.exe", I didnt change any of the settings, I installed the recommended settings and after the installation completed, I launched the game and opened with no problems but in the bottom left corner it says 1.1.3 for some reason. After that I opened the version.dat again and it changed there too to 1.1.3
