Makes me wonder how many people ILLGAMES have left to begin with. I suspect not much.
I just know illusion was based in Yokohama and exploded into both
From sniffing whatever marketing they display on their respective websites, I speculate ILLGAMES took with it at least part of the anime-style team, and ILLUMINATION took with it the VR developers and the realistic-style team.
And this naturally complicates things. The talent you had isn't here anymore. As of today, looking at
And the conclusion to all that is that I have no fucking idea what they're doing. Most likely their best. I suspect they might be scrambling (heh) for money at this early stage of the new respective companies.
Now I wonder what Japan itself - the actual target demographic and the ones actually giving money - thinks of the ILLGAMES games. I am certain the international market is definitely not a target, at least not at this time, so our opinion is basically discarded (sorry STN - but good luck with C2L and PassionEye, I am definitely looking forward to it).
But I know Pixiv has been rife with mods - especially for Koikatsu. And now not only has ILLGAMES switched compilation from JIT/IL to ASM/precompiled, which isn't that bad of a move by itself, it looks like they are also actively preventing mods in their terms of service...?
Can anybody read their ToS (which I can't find for the life of me) and confirm? Because it kinda sounds wild given the use. Or maybe it's only for their online shop/card-sharing (which I can totally understand in this case), or it's just a generic self-covering protection and they don't actually give a crap.

That is not something you do when everything is going smoothly, and makes me suspect either a. running from debt or b. fundamental internal disagreements - neither of those being a good sign. From sniffing whatever marketing they display on their respective websites, I speculate ILLGAMES took with it at least part of the anime-style team, and ILLUMINATION took with it the VR developers and the realistic-style team.
