He was oblivious about their marriages current state. "Landlady" could have sat down with him and tried to talk about how she is unhappy in this marriage but she chose to cheat on him with their "Tenant" instead. Not only that, but she continued doing that well after he became aware and was improving himself for the sake of their marriage. "Landlady" is a POS. "Landlord" at least broke down after Emma tried to push him further and further.
He isnt entirely blameless, but if she would have just open her mouth this wouldnt have happened. Even badmouthing him behind his back. Disgusting.
Wow, you really seem to have a burr up your backside about this. The husband had failed as a husband & father long before the start of the game, but for some reason you seem to want to give him all sorts of benefit-of-the-doubt while ignoring the fact that his family has
clearly been spiralling out of control for a LONG time. When we come in, not only is his marriage essentially dead, but his kids are also total d-bags - clearly acting out for attention they have not been getting for a long time.
Yet despite these problems taking literally YEARS to slowly develop, he has always clearly been too selfish to give a shit until
HIS world is threatened. For me the bad husband & father didn't deserve much consideration at all (a mom choosing to fuck her son
may be a step too far
) at the start of the game. But I guess we all view things differently based on our family experiences IRL. Again, the key point for me is how many
years he had the chance (obligation) to step in and actually give a shit about his unhappy wife (a good husband does not need to be sat down and told about this, BTW) and kids
but never did.
