Legal action if something goes south is very hard if you're both living in different countries.

2. The artist needs to match my style and as I improve my skills, so must he.

3. An artist that ticks point 2 expects to be paid decently. And currently, I can't afford this.


It's one of my goals to get another artist or two onboard but I doubt this will happen with Daz.
Blender is a much bigger market for freelancers.

I think this novel is one of the best here and also the illustrative art, however I am of the opinion that a project that develops with updates so distant in time sooner or later loses interest and even more if it lacks a reference for the completion.
Everyone does what he believes but, I remain of the opinion that this is not the way to work for a professional with such skills that he chooses this type of business.

Unfortunately I just don't see how one person can finish a project of this magnitude and ambition before at least the turn of the decade. Don't want to put you down or anything, the work you're doing is absolutely amazing, just kinda has those "genius guy building a spaceship in his garage" vibes.

I hope this year Ocean will buy really good hardware (mainly top video cards). It'll solve one of his main problems and speed up SG development, I suppose

I guess the problem is not so much the hardware, but the large number of details in each chapter. Ocean makes approximately 200 images per month. If desired, one chapter can fit into 800 images. In this case, we will get 3 chapters per year, and with new hardware, maybe even 4. But for this he need to abandon long scenes of basketball matches with 400 images and board games.

To me the first seems much more from someone that is crazy enough to do it, the second version seems too vague and "what if" and not an actual threat to her life. (i am not sure how i feel about the prolonged hand holding) The rest of the scene feels right, though.
If the idea is to have a less deranged mc then the reaction to him also needed to change.

TL;DR - quality of renders in rework is much better, while content (story, posing, angles, dialogues) became worse.
And we lost Pajama Nami.

For anyone concerned about the release schedule!

Ch1 was made by an unexperienced dev, it took a lot of him to be able to work towards Ch2 as he had a lot of time issues.

But now that Ocean has taken the wheel, we are definetly looking at a more constant release schedule instead of 7 months loke we waited last time, we are looking at 2 to maximum 3 months per chapter! Its all about having faith (and of course a bit of support so the dev can improve his hardware) and boom! We have an amazing game with an amazing story!

That's not a flaw, it's intended dude. Can't make a decent Kubrick Stare with thin eyebrows. You know what's a Kubrick Stare right ? A shot where the character stares at the audience with a forward tilt. It implies that the character in question is pissed or fucking instable and the person he's looking is really screwed. Massive eyebrows make the stare looks deeper and eviler.

Ignoring what is the better MC for a moment, the reworked scene doesn't work because without the "simple cut here" part the teacher pulling out her gun doesn't make sense, if its supposed to be a less crazy mc then you also need to change people's reaction to him, aka no more gun, and maybe also no more police.

i agree 100%, the mc used to be quite the interesting character, and he lost some of that, but even still that last scene of 3.5 doesn't make sense even with this softer mc, it would be way to easy for him not to be locked (all he had to do is to push his arm and she wouldn't be able to lock it to the wall), and the foot part is even worse.
guess i will have to keep a copy of the older versions, instead of keeping the latest only as i usually do, because its very unlikely that he would change his mind.
