However... and from here on this post is intended to be understood in general, not addressed to you personally. The vast majority of the so-called "concerned" people do not take into account important things. For example, they project their own "concerns" onto everyone else; define their own opinion as the general truth; if someone disagrees with them, that person is stupid, ignorant, naive, asslicker, etc.
I've never liked being told what to think about a certain thing, what opinion I can have about something. I can decide on my own, without external help, whether what I paid for - be it a book, music, film or an AVN - is good or bad, I made the right decision or the wrong one. After all, I spend my money as I see fit. This is a personal opinion, but comments that seem generic are almost always made by people who have close to zero interest in the matter at thing.

It's a big area to cover. If people are genuinely interested in why music costs money, google UMAW (United Musicians & Allied Workers) as they'll give you the breakdown for why musicians have been raped and pillaged by streaming. It's absolutely fucked what spotify has done to musicians. the majority of artists will never even break even on spotify, or with releasing music because spotify has made people assume music is free. In regards to what Ocean is doing, releasing a DLC soundtrack is pretty common on steam/GOG. Yes, it is a cash grab, but he is being pretty darn generous by the terms for the musicians, who can't sell on steam in their own right. He's acting as distribution and taking all the marketing on the platform. So as far as cash grabs go:
- Everyone can hear the music in SG without paying.
- No one is forced to buy a playlist to play SG, it is completely optional at the buyer's discretion.
- If you buy the playlist, you are not unlocking any extra content in SG.
- If you buy the playlist, it is purely because you wish to own a copy of the music you can play wherever you want, without being connected to the internet.
- When you play SG, the music is licensed, so depending on the deal, the musicians get no royalties (high license price) because there is no mechanism to determine how many plays are involved. Buying the SG playlist allows the artists to get something extra, which Ocean didn't have to do. Otherwise they're back to earning less than half a cent per stream on spotify.
Why would Ocean give the musicians extra after buying expensive licenses to use their music? Building a loyal business connection so they don't screw him over.
But even simpler - everyone here has their own cash grab, it's called doing work or being on benefits.

Ocean spent several years here, clearing up rumors and bullshit about his game, and failed miserably.
Just ask yourself why Steam made him tag his game with "Frequent Nudity" if it doesn't have any nude scenes?
Ocean set a release date of May 10th and your view only goes through May 7th.
It may also take Steam a day/few days to update their 'upcoming releases' to reflect newly approved creations once their dev's provide a release date.

It literally blows my mind even to this day that in the year of 2024, people still don't know how the internet works. It IS actually FREE.Unless your actual name is 'nobody' - your statement is false - there are people who Do care about the music.
I happen to be one of them, I am a paying supporter and I Always encourage Ocean to pursue music if He feels it will add to Summers Gone.
I feel like the music is a Major add to Summers Gone, it helps with immersion and sets the tone for different scenes, and I have multiple SG playlists that I enjoy wherever I travel.
As nice as it is to try to speak for 100% of the people who have tried Summers Gone - better to just go with:
IMO - it is your opinion and you are entitled to it, just like each one of us!
FYI - The licensed music Ocean pursues is not FREE.
Free describes your download on F95.
It does not, for example, describe the cost of electricity, hardware, software, or the music that Ocean uses for Summers Gone.

All you have to do is use your friend google and "download free music" or whatever. It's that simple. Suuuure music is part of the game or any game but you really don't have to throw ridiculous amounts of money on something that MOST people don't really care that much.

Season 1 - Steam Release Date + Amber therapy changes

Let's get straight to the point... The release date on Steam.
It's on Friday, the 10th of May.
I'm giving the curators 8 more days. Then I will release.
Having Wishlists is very important for the release, and because I didn't have a playable version until last month, I couldn't send the game to curators.
It's already taking effect; yesterday, the game got another 200 wishlists.
SG is still on the lower side, so I'm really trying to get a few more in.
Amber's Therapy.
I previously mentioned that I changed the transparency of Amber's blouse in the therapy scenes. So far, so good... until I started testing more. I disliked quite a bit of the scene before, and it didn't favor Amber's character development.
She was a waaaay too touchy, way too early.
Of course, Amber is a main love interest and will eventually be touchy. But it was too early and had to be redone for the sake of her character.

I mentioned the two DLC Treat packs yesterday.
Besides the Treat packs, there will also be two Soundtrack packs.
With my new contract, I can sell songs as external soundtracks, etc., and I've added the clause that they get 50% of the soundtrack sales.
The industry standard is, I think, 15%, but I want to help underrated music artists. Sadly, Late Kids and I still used the old contract. But if they want to work together again for Season 2, I will get them on Steam for S2.

SOME music is free. Try putting Taylor Swift songs in an AVN like SG and see how quickly you find out it's not freely available.
If you don't wish to risk lawsuits, you don't pirate or repackage someone else's copyrighted work (even most creative common licenses don't allow commercial use) without their permission unless you know their copyright terms. Most people get away with it because the cost of pursuing an international case is prohibitive.
In Ocean's case, the rights holders could easily send takedown notices to steam/epic/gog etc if he did the wrong thing. That's the situation Ocean is avoiding by paying for music, and removing the 18+ lewds in season 1.
For season 2 Ocean did say he's going to look at whether there were viable free music options - the question is whether he finds music that inspires him, and whether his willing to risk using it without being certain they won't change their copyright terms when they see SG making money with their music.

Honestly Summers Gone without music is like playing any other college themed AVN imo it is what sets it apart and makes it stand out imo. I mean id still play it without the music but it would feel so weird after seeing how well the music improves this game it wouldn't be the same . So I rather Ocean spends money and get the quality music he wants instead of copyright free / free use music unless it's actually one he wants cause it fits the game or scene.

The original scenes showed the MC with a total indifference to what Amber was wearing - which gave Amber a confirmation that there was something going on and a place to start with her therapy.
I took the physical touching as another part of that test - and again, the MC showed no physical response to being touched and held by such a beautiful woman.
The reality is that Ocean's changes to Amber's approach to the MC - more professional outfit and less physical touching - will make the growth of the MC/Amber relationship and the touching and outfits she eventually chooses to wear around/for him much more meaningful.
Amber is DDG - Drop Dead Gorgeous - regardless of which outfit she wears though!!
Sadly - Ocean is not going to go porn trope with Summers Gone - so no Bella/Amber throuple...
