"Escapism" and just being wrong are different things. I fully understand that this stuff doesn't bother most people, but at this point I'm still playing SG mostly out of an odd fascination with the funhouse mirror version of the world. It's all so baffling.
Perspective is the key - you see much just 'being wrong' with SG, while I am among those who see it as escapism and simply enjoying the AVN - different perspectives for the same AVN.
I see a lot to like, including an interesting story built with a basic societal architecture I understand:
Single 'Mom' with 2 kids
Tragedy struck one of them and he is still suffering from many of the aftereffects of that tragedy
College starting, with the chance to write a new chapter in the books of many lives
Cliques within the school
Etc.
This is Not a Lifetime movie script; it is a detailed story, being told using a slowly changing mix of software and hardware, while the author is trying to make a living telling his stories.
I like a story with some larger-than-life characters, and a mix that leans strongly towards beautiful women - certainly better in my book than Many Lifetime movies.
Yes - we have had a few iterations of tits as seen in a funhouse mirror (sorry Mila...) but these are the exception versus the norm.
Every AVN is a mix of some combination including: story, imagery, animations, music and ambient noise.
I've played hundreds of AVNs now and none of them max out at 10 of 10 across the board, so if someone is Looking to find fault - things just 'being wrong' - easy peasy.
I'm not looking to find fault... I'm looking for a good story, well-presented, that provides enough continuity in terms of appealing to my sense of sight and sound, to keep me immersed in the AVN.
SG does that for me.
I just don't camp anywhere out of morbid curiosity.
I have a major backlog of AVNs to play, hopefully enjoying many of them and, for me, that is one place where my time is better spent.
That and soon,
enjoying the Civ 7 release!
Cheers!!
