Summer's Gone - Season 2 - Chapter 1 - Dev Log #27
Hello,

New renders created over the past 12 days: 331 (117 for SG)

New SG animations: 2

Current still render count: 5097

Still on the lower side of the renders due to the big scene and finishing touches of the other, about-to-be-finished project.

I've taken yesterday to test the timings for different animations. I have a big whiteboard here and it's now full of animation timings and a few drawings of tiddies.

At first I tested how many frames it really needs to have a good boob jiggle, then I did the same with the ass, hair, thighs, nipple piercings, and ear-rings.

The boob tests gave me a good base to work with. With hair I'm kinda familiar as OG SG players will know.

Anyways, I can probably do 2-3 lewd animations a day now. They take significantly longer to set up, but the detail speaks for itself.

Said knowledge will come in handy as soon as SG needs it.

Extras
With the new Chapter I will introduce collectibles and new viewpoints.

I still have to code it in, create a gallery for it, and render 47 collectible renders. (CH1 to CH4)

It would be weird if the first three Chapters didn't have any to collect, so I'll add them there too.

Collectibles

Collectibles are extra images that you can unlock.

With Season 2 Chapter 2 I'll introduce another sort of collectible. It's awesome but requires a sophisticated design and we're still working on that.

Different viewpoints.
Sometimes the leaf won't unlock a render and instead it shows you a different point of view... and sometimes even behind closed curtains...

As soon as the update is live, I'd love some feedback on those two thingies.

Other stuff:
I've picked up a Python course again. While I never plan to become a first class coder, I'd like to have a base understanding of what's going on.

What led me to do it is that Blender is also based on Python, and while I never planned to create my own addons/scripts, it might be a way to cut down mundane work in the future.

Even something as "simple" as a random-dresser for background characters would go a long way.

I'm enjoying the course, and whatever I learn, I immediately try out in Ren'Py itself. It gave me a few neat ideas. (Hour-long freeroams... just kidding.)

With the S2 CH1, you'll also be introduced to optional fetish routes that you and girl X can develop over time.

Exhibitionism, for example.

I have a neat idea to display this as some sort of a skill tree... I'll preview this in the future to get some feedback on it.

As soon as I'm done with the other project, it will be put on pause until this behemoth SG update is out.

Nobody need this "other wievpoint perspective" or other annoing innovations, just story and renders, not even anymations.

You should only visit this thread once a week and not on the Devlog days . I was about to say never visit this thread but we would all miss you if you did that. So do things that are positive for you for 6 days and 1 day of the week drop by this thread and say hi to some of us. (Just like having a cheat meal day while you are trying to stick to a diet for the remaining 6 days).

More than responsibility it gives me the impression of a lack of concentration or consistency, or in short the ability to stick to the plan. Ignoring the external causes of aversion of family affection, Ocean has deviated from the path several times just think of several Dev Logs ago where he talked about introducing a WiAB save transfer in SG.

I've forced myself out of the Ayua train and replaced her with Elsa because I'm still convinced Ayua is the MC's half sister. But then again Nami is his actual sister and apparently still an LI so...yeah...we'll see where this goes. Ocean's gotta tighten up the script here. The ambiguity does this game no favors.

Given that the game is still on Patreon, I highly suspect there's no blood relations with any of the LI. Nami can be explained away as a step-sister. Ayua is probably the daughter of someone that knows Miru (maybe they had the same master?) but isn't related. And of course, everyone LI's mom had a fling with William.

We also include larger extended family, which means that we don’t only look at the blood line but also stepfamily members whether or not they are bound by law. If for example the characters call each other sister and brother or mother and son, we will review the content as incest.

If this is how Patreon themselves view the situation then how is SG still on there? Noji, Nami and the MC act as a family, live in the same household and the kids even refer to her as "Mom". Whether they are step silings, half siblings, adopted or whatever, they still live as a family. I just don't understand.

it's fucking disappointment. when he said he'd make two games at same time, we actually didn't believe it he can make it and we realised eventually he will felt burnout and will abandon these games. just like other devs. it's so sad to see that Ocean is just another liar who can't keep his promises and keep lying his supporters again and again. I just stopped my 50 f*cking dollar patreon membership because altough I'm so excited to play those games, at this point I can't see any future of these games. while we don't get an update within 1.5 year development time, how can I believe those 40 episodes SG and 30 episodes WIAB will complete at some day in future...
