Can't be helped since WiaB originally was an incest game, and so was SG with Nika/Nami. Its in the DNA of the games and the fandom, even if Ocean has moved away from it.
It was? Didn´t know about it. Personally, I´m happy Ocean drifted away from it.

It's not a matter of wanting it, but objectively they were originally intended that way. Leia and Katie in WiaB are William's sisters and Helen is their mother but they are all three LI, and some relationship is clearly intended between Nika and Nami (and no a single conversation where they have different parents who died in a car accident when they were both 3 years old, even though Nami is a year older but has always been in the same classes with Nika, it doesn't add up compared to at least 3 who insinuate that they are related)

Thanks for coming to my Ted talk
I never though Nika and Nami were related. I prefer if they weren´t.

And thats totally fair. You came in later, thats not your baseline for the game. But when it comes to why incest is such a recurring topic within the fandom, that is why. Especially when there is the narrative weirdness with Nami, because Ocean has tried to keep as much of character history intact as he can with the reworking of the script to meet Patreon guidelines.

I'm good either way. I'm more about the character/personality, rather than their relationship to the MC. The incest stuff is more "the setting" to me, if that makes sense.

I felt the incest stuff was much better built into pre-rework-WiaB and the character histories there, and I kinda prefer that version of the game's lore. But I also never engaged much with it, because I didn't like the idea of being a cheater.

I’ve been trying to forget SG even exists until I get a notification that it updated, but it’s getting hard. I’m afraid to ask this, but do we have any idea when to expect an update or where the progress is at right now? This is getting frustrating. It better be one hell of an update. It’s been more than a fucking year for Christ’s sake.

It's simple, the update will be about 4x bigger than the Chapter 5 beta. Ocean wrote that he's aiming for 8,000 renders in the next update, Chapter 5 was 2,200+ renders. The entire Season 1 was ~12,000 renders, so the next update will be 2/3 of Season 1.

His latest estimate about when: Q4 2025, many of us think that it would rather be December or X-mas 2026 but only time will tell.

Yeah, I remember reading it's 8000 renders, but now that you put it into perspective, that really does seem like a big update. I just hope it actually moves the story forward and we’re not going to spend half of it inside a game like Chapter 3 lol. December huh. Well, I really hope this won’t become the usual from now on. Two updates every three years? Just imagining that makes me shudder.

Ocean said that it was a one time thing. But then again he said the same to his girlfriend too.

No, he has addressed this many times that it will be a one-time thing and he will definitely return to his usual updates of about 2000 renders. I think he's just testing the best way to promote and sell the game on Steam.

As for progress, usually people mean "seggs when" by progress, well, it was promised that S2 will be adult and there will be lewd scenes. How lewd they will be is hard to say, at least we saw full naked Cheeto and Mila in the previews :BootyTime:

Honestly, I've never been that curious about the main story in SG, for me it's more about the dynamics of the relationships between the characters, relationship building, emotions, drama, that kind of thing. Judging from the renders, there's going to be a lot of content about them living in Nick's house, Nika, Nami, Mila and Robin moving into that student house, and we'll see more of Katie, for me that's enough progress to make me want the next update.

What, uh, what IS the main story of SG? Does it even have one? It just seems pretty slice of life to me, with some running sub-plots, while MC and the girls all start making progress with their various issues/traumas/etc.

For me the main story is about two young persons who are absolutely not siblings falling in love. Other than that, not a clue.

That's a good question. At first I was ready with the "Where's Summer?" but after I gave it some thought, that ain't it. It's not like Nika is looking. So the main story is probably more about getting over Summer but it's done through slice of life style content. Then each girl has their quirk/issue/quest but I wouldn't consider those main story.

Alright, cool. Yeah, thats pretty much where I'm at with it, too.

Season 1 was pretty much all set-up, and Bella progress, though. Maybe Season 2 will introduce a more solid overarching storyline that will take us to Season 5. I doubt the game will ever get there, but still.

Ocean didn't explicitly call it a one-time thing. He explained that a larger update made more sense than splitting it into smaller parts. He's done big updates before (not this big) and will likely do them again when needed, though he generally prefers regular-sized updates.

You guys are clueless.
The story is about healing... his dick!

What actually happened to Summer could still be central to the main story, maybe it's connected to the criminal networks/families in Wollust somehow. So Nika's journey to become better and dealing with his trauma, could lead him to uncovering something about that, as well as more about his own and Nami's past and parents.
