Until Ocean started doing all this censorship nonsense, SG was among the top games in the AVN community. Where is SG now? Even Eternum is ahead of SG now, but it used to be behind. Eternum could easily earn that 200k you're talking about in less than five months, just from Patreon, not counting other sources. This is what Ocean lost when he decided to drag out the plot and not add sex to the game.

And so fucking what how much money Oceans games make are we as fans reaping the rewards of that fuck no we are not, we are waiting for years just for a single update and there is no sign or word from Ocean when we will see anything.

All we get is bullshit excuses so it does not matter one bit how much money Ocean is making we as fans arent getting shit because of it, the money is not making the update come out faster but Ocean is living the life while we are sitting here with our fingers in our asses talking about how fucking great he is.

Everybody thinks if Ocean gets more support more money he will bring out the update quicker ok well is 2 years not long enough ? how many workstations does the man need.

granted I haven't played from the very beginning so if something was cut many years back I wouldn't have seen it, but I don't remember anything like that ever since I've been playing it, and that was well before the steam release. And I have the cut content mod installed too, that doesn't have porn either.

I find it funny that he's going through all this trouble for a steam release like its going to help him financially when in reality his first season only got 340 players.. which roughly translates into $3000 euro's that's nothing compared to what he spends on development costs..

I think he's well and truly cooked since leaving patreon and IF Season 2 does actually finally release in all honesty I think it might be his last.

You're way off with those figures, wow. Those 340 represent the maximum number of players who were online simultaneously, not the game's sales, seriously. Ocean made about 210k in revenue from launching Summer's Gone on Steam. If I do some quick rough math, after accounting for VAT, Steam's cut, German taxes, and Gewerbesteuer (business tax), he likely made around 65k-80k from Steam SG alone. Naturally, these figures are approximate and just estimates.

It's logical to assume that if a game is in the AVN section, it means there's something there, or something was there. SG in its current state has no place in this section; it belongs in the VN.

As far as I know, I saw a section here that doesn't have any porn or erotica. That section doesn't even show naked breasts, which are allowed to be shown even during the day in many countries.

It's fine to them Ocean can take 3 years total and not bring out a update and he is the perfect Developer and Summer's Gone is the perfect AVN even though it only has 5 chapters since 2019 and we are at 2026.

Nothing and i mean nothing Ocean does or does not do will make them see him as a bad developer to them he is flawless without a wrinkle.

Which is fine because as time carries on the older they get and how much longer will they wait and how many days, months and years will go by and they not get their money worth in Ocean, as the old saying goes a fool and their money soon will part.

If a business only shows a gross revenue total of $200k, (or let's be generous, double that to $400k because Ocean is working on 2 games) after 7 years, it is beyond shitty sales figures.

For a regular business with employees and whatnot, or an AAA studio, I would agree, 200 or 400k is nothing for 7 years. But you're comparing apples and oranges here... game's been on steam not even 2 years, so that should be considered. And again, for indie game developers, it's not a bad revenue. There are very few AVNs that ever hit or will hit even the 1m mark.

He also has (had) the patreon income, which was his primary source of funding until steam release. So if we combine his two patreons while they existed, his SS, his steam sales, add all that for those 7 years, the numbers will instantly look better. Can't say how much better since I don't think his patreon data is available. But by just using the steam numbers and saying that's all he can show for 7 years of work is not fair.
