Now that GTA 6 is going to be delayed again (98% sure), I've lost the joke about GTA 6 coming out before SG, maybe I can use that again in S3.
Its okay to like the game but its not okay to be this delusional. The game certainly DOES have a story in fact this is a literal blueprint for for every AVN game. Summers gone is the best written and best characterized AVN ever made. Where It all began is a very close second as well.
What a dumb mf you areI find it funny that he's going through all this trouble for a steam release like its going to help him financially when in reality his first season only got 340 players.. which roughly translates into $3000 euro's that's nothing compared to what he spends on development costs..
I think he's well and truly cooked since leaving patreon and IF Season 2 does actually finally release in all honesty I think it might be his last.
This game could have made a decent profit on Steam. As usual, Ocean made a foolish move when he removed almost all the erotic scenes from the game. Games without sex aren't popular on Steam (and not just on Steam, but everywhere), which is why the profit was so small.I find it funny that he's going through all this trouble for a steam release like its going to help him financially
copies sold should be pretty pretty bang on, total revenue however won't be since it can't really take into account the various sales or bundles and whatnot. At least that's what I think. But it's a decent enough ballpark estimate.Since it's an estimate and not official Steam figures, obviously it can't be taken as gospel but it can give a rough ballpark figure.
yep 200k USD, shitty sales figuresThis game could have made a decent profit on Steam. As usual, Ocean made a foolish move when he removed almost all the erotic scenes from the game. Compared to other games, they are truly terrible. Sex helps you make money.yep 200k USD, shitty sales figures![]()
Peak F95 user. "other games" right, sure there are a handful that make more, but let's not kid ourselves here, in general indie games make shit money on steam with a few exceptions. Majority of AVNs will never reach those 200k figures either.Compared to other games, they are truly terrible. Sex helps you make money.
Ofc these numbers are very rough estimation.copies sold should be pretty pretty bang on, total revenue however won't be since it can't really take into account the various sales or bundles and whatnot. At least that's what I think. But it's a decent enough ballpark estimate.
steam takes a flat 30% right off I think. Plus country specific taxes afterwardsOfc these numbers are very rough estimation.
213000 / 18750 = 11,36$ per copy.
I'm not sure this price accurately reflects the average cost per copy sold. Regional prices varied greatly, with sales and bundles available.
The number of copies sold varies greatly across trackers; for example, Gamalytic gives this estimate: 9.5k - 23.6k, so they just average it to 16,6K.
If I remember correctly, Ocean spilled somewhere that the figures were close to the upper end of the estimate. But it's important to keep in mind that the revenue reported is gross profit, and actually, he makes I believe ~50-70 percent of that sum. All right then, Ocean. Keep your secrets.![]()
Anyway, all of this is unnecessary overcomplication that doesn't help to prove that Ocean is losing money because he doesn't listen to the zonie experts.
Some countries even include the Steam flat and Patreon charges into the tax. Don't ask me why, because I don't know.steam takes a flat 30% right off I think. Plus country specific taxes afterwards![]()
Until Ocean started doing all this censorship nonsense, SG was among the top games in the AVN community. Where is SG now? Even Eternum is ahead of SG now, but it used to be behind. Eternum could easily earn that 200k you're talking about in less than five months, just from Patreon, not counting other sources. This is what Ocean lost when he decided to drag out the plot and not add sex to the game."other games" right, sure there are a handful that make more, but let's not kid ourselves here, in general indie games make shit money on steam with a few exceptions. Majority of AVNs will never reach those 200k figures either.
Yeah and by the way, don't forget about the 7,000 copies of WiAB, but the income there is much more modest, something around 50Kyep 200k USD, shitty sales figures![]()
