Realistic date plus minus July-August-September probably Ch5 SG (Beta) WIAB will be released first
Ya WIAB Ch3 will likely be in the next month or two I would imagine and we know Ch5 is already in development, so I'd be surprised if it's later than the end of July, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Are the chapter redos over or am I going to need to keep starting over to get all the content? I hope its just new chapters each update.
Here's the plan:

Ch 5 Beta - new content

CH 5 Full (rework of CH 2 finishes + any other updates in CH 3 - 3.5 needed for continuity, I have not seen anything mentioned about continuity issues in CH 4)

Summers Gone Season 1 (Ch 1 - 5) Steam release.

The rework is specifically focused on making Summers Gone shine for the Steam release, so I am unaware of any other reworking, post Ch 5, given this focus.

Still super salty that it had the absolute opposite effect on me. Was looking forward to get it on Steam. Had it wishlisted for like a year, maybe more. And the last update nearly killed all my interest in the game. Don't even feel like giving WiaB a chance anymore I'm so disappointed. Freaking wish I could forget how much better the game was pre-reworks gaahhhh.

the reworks looks awesome but certain characters lost their edge and emotions.

They're different. Everybody was a more childish, extrovert and impulsive person. Now everybody is more somber, sensible and introverted.

Anyway, what really baffles me are that totally pointless and useless long RPG session in chapter 4 and the fact that there are too many "wannabe" LIs (that iranian girl and every middle aged character, for instance).

Oh, and NOBODY NEEDED that stupid scene with that dark skinned nagging ugly girl that replaced the old car scene - that was a far far far better scene - in chapter 2.

Guy's any guess who is she?...
If You all know..
It's Bella. If you tell Jeff in the showers you think that she's not as bad as all people says you get some RP from Bella. But she must've helped you after the incedent with the weights. Otherwise you didn't discuss your slightly positive affection with Jeff.

Totally agree, I feel like a lot of great renders are being wasted on a completely irrelevant filler scene. My suggestion is that the board game should be a placeholder for lewds that don't fit in with the main plot, a place where characters can fulfill their dirtiest fantasies, at least I hope so :)

Perhaps a tribute to the good old forgotten Estate: Dominate. That girl model was used for the Isabella character there and SG's Eva seems to have the same bitchy attitude and look.

um what "... dark skinned nagging ugly girl..."
are you referring to one of the twins? if so, i suppose you could just try a new playthru where you don't get handcuffed to her.
also, she is anything but ugly...maybe rephrase your post so you don't sound quite so...[you know what you sounded like]

also; Sonya [the Iranian girl] is featured prominently in OL's photos, not to mention she is gorgeous, so wether she is a LI or not [my guess is very much so, even if only on her end] she is part of the story.
the 'unnecessary' RPG is Very necessary, its to provide background for how MC gets closer to Nadia, and Sonya [and maybe the overly hot professor Cindy, & Nancy].

One of the things that could be easy to miss if all you are doing is a straight comparison, old CH 2 and new reworked CH 2 (besides only getting about 60-65% of the rework with CH 4.5 Full) is the issue of music.

Ocean helps to tell the stories of Summers Gone with music and he does an absolutely great job tying the emotions of many songs to animations and renders for those stories.

We lost some great music that Ocean literally built animations around. He spent years finding music to fit scenes well in advance of what he had actually released at the time.

While many of the individual artists may not have a problem with their music appearing in VNs with adult content, the big music sites that those artists signed up with did - and those music sites do not support linking their artists with what they consider to be porn. They don't care that many/most of Ocean's supporters and fans see it as reasonable adult content for an adult story.

Ocean removed a lot of music and put in placeholder music in many places. This will give him time to find new music to add to replace the old, and this is all part of the work to polish Summers Gone Season 1 for a Steam release. Finding this kind of quality music takes time and I trust Ocean and any help he is able to hire to rebuild the Summers Gone music experience and eventually make it as good as or better than it was a year or more ago.

A successful Steam launch will give Ocean the resources to help with the music (especially the 'go to lawyers to negotiate' part of that program). It will also give him resources to hire more freelancers for the creation of environments where portions of SG will take place - like the stadium. There are many other areas where the big bump in resources will help and I certainly can't name them all.

I've played games on Steam for almost as long as there has been a 'Steam' and it's only been in the last perhaps 2 years that AVNs have started to carve out a home there.

A successful Steam launch will give many of us the ability to introduce SG to people who will never visit F95 or even to start supporting AVNs on Patreon/SS. I know I'm looking forward to gifting SG to a number of friends who will enjoy this great AVN - and Steam will put it on their radar.

If the music is one of the big draws for you, consider sticking around and seeing what the mod community is coming up with.

There is at least one modder working on an 'original' SG playlist for use by those of us here on F95.

If it is not enough by itself, then perhaps wait until all the rework is done and then try Summers Gone once again when it is a fully immersive experience with all the continuity bugs ironed out.

I've had games on Steam wishlisted for years using many of those as place holders/reminders to check out those games when they finally left early access, so there is no issue with leaving SG wishlisted for a year or more while you wait to decide if the revised SG still retains enough of the original magic for you to enjoy it.

Whatever you choose to do - enjoy yourself.

Cheers!

No, Miriam is funny. It's about a reworked scene in the college parking where Bella is waiting for the MC beside her car while talking to Nadia. After the remake, a new girl, Eva, appears in this scene, she scolds the MC when he approaches Bella.

and he makes fun of her, and he STILL says the car is giving him cancer...
and she wasn't dark skinned, she was dark haired.

Yes, this is a really good point, but why then show in detail the fantasy world of a board game with a complex plot? It was enough to show how they sit at the table, play and talk, well, maybe focusing on some key moment related to the game, for example, when MC found a "lewd" card, and Nadia was all embarrassed by that and started making up some stupid excuses. But I understand, that's the matter of one's liking, someone doesn't like the whole basketball theme, although this is one of the key parts of the main plot.

The RPG session is the starter for future lewd game sessions, Nadia seemed a tad embarrassed about those when she accidentally left lewd cards in MC's session. If I remembered correctly, MC accepted to maybe play with those in the future.

The 'Iranian girl' used to be Ocean's favourite some time ago. She's definitely a main LI. Some of the middle aged women in the game will be LIs, some will be lewdeable.

The new girl reminded me of how irrationally angry Bella seemed to be originally lol. Though nothing has been confirmed and I doubt she'll be a LI, Ocean doesn't put new (named) characters (especially if they're friends with some of the LIs) if they weren't substantial for the story or they will affect it in some way.

Could it be that they put those scenes from the role-playing game because there will be more scenes with Nadia in the next update?

Ocean is our storyteller for Summers Gone.

He is already weaving plot lines for other characters and events well out into the future.

I happened to enjoy the SciFi RPG session. I think this session added to SG in a number of ways:

We got to see Nadia act decisively outside of sports, which adds to the dichotomy of her character since she comes across as more of a conflict avoiding nerd with the new 'Bella meets Mr. Banana' scene in the classroom, CH 2 rework.

We learn about Nancy and her insecurities about her body, feeling like she is in Nadia's shadow.

We see a version of Sonya who takes the fight to the invaders, using her initiative and imagination; we also see a short scene of her playing with the two miniatures representing the MC and her like they are Barbie and Ken dolls - which shows both an innocence in her view of herself/she and the MC and just how repressed she has been from the males/adults trying to control her life.

Nami shows that she is the MC's social wingman as well as showing that she's got game - whatever that game is.

The MC gets to show the women that he is not a creep or perv by the way he interacts with the women and gets fully invested in the RPG. He even gets to praise Sonya about taking the initiative, a type of praise I think she has rarely received from a male.

The concept of naughty gameplay is introduced in a safe way that allowed Nadia and Nancy to overcome their embarrassment, adding to their ability to bring it up as part of the discussion about the next session.

Nadia and Nancy enjoyed having the MC and Nami join them for this RPG session so they got an invite for a future session at the barn. The barn feels like it is a place where the MC could have encounters with multiple LIs as well as some encounters with women who are not LIs (like one of the professors - Cindy - who plays the RPGs as well).

I remember learning to play D&D in college with a mix of guys and girls. Was this a way for socially awkward guys and girls to try out their flirt in a safe setting? You bet it was!

Mature women are a no for you - that's fine, but just because you turn them all down does not mean that a MILF like Amber is not interesting to a number of us.

zAmberBella1.png

Amber-Treat-3.png

In my dictionary, these images are next to the work FINE!

Ocean gives us a wide variety of women to pursue; some will become LIs and others will offer the opportunities for lewd/sexual encounters and I like the variety.

I see Summers Gone as a tapestry of stories that will eventually show many pictures of the world of SG. I'm looking forward to following many of the threads in that tapestry.
