you know what's Ironic , Ocean took out a few scenes out of the game because of genitalia to avoid a 18+ rating and Oceans ended up getting the 18+ rating anyway , hindsight 20/20 , we could've avoid all the drama about those scenes being cut from the game if Oceans knew that 18+ rating wasn't avoidable .

It's more than just the rating. Ocean would've lost a bunch of licensed music already in the game had he kept the lewd stuff, regardless of the rating. For the sake of keeping the music, he ditched a couple of dick pics, a vagina pic, and some booby pics.

This is probably the biggest issue really, keeping the music means he didn't have to rework the cinematics especially. I guess we hope that it's 16+ doesn't breach the terms they changed on him.

Yeah 2023 was a kinda "bumpy" ocean year, that might be true... but things are looking better now and he has still delivered way more content both games combined than most DEVs.
This could be a really nice Ocean-Games year. Doesnt hurt to be a little optimistic here...

The funny thing is that in a few months the music license that Ocean took for 1 year will expire, and then none of this will make sense. Moreover, in season 2 there will be porn scenes, which means that he will lose this music in any case.

My life is not so sad and pathetic that it revolves around VN release dates (or any media for that matter).. It releases when it releases and even then, I doubt I'll get around to it till the following weekend anyway.

Steam suggests a price I believe.
It is ultimately up to the dev
and yes, Steam does annoyingly have a regional price structure (one reason gog became so successful as it didn't used to).

So, I heard back from Steam

Everything was alright but they want me to check the "Frequent Nudity" button in the content survey. I did so now and as it seems, the game keeps the lower Age rating with the frequent nudity enabled. (Not sure, I assume they bump it up to 18+ soon)

So all that's left for them to check is if I checked that checkmark on Monday.

So it's safe to assume, that SG gets the green light early next week.

But it is apparently enough for the game not be available in Germany... So I guess bad luck for my German bros, including me.

Then will nothing change, Ocean can still make a living out of the income Patreon/SS generates. Steam is more or less a tool to get a nice money pillow for additionally safety in the short term, and in the long term to pull more audience to Patreon/SS.

We have to consider that the game is a one time sale, then Ocean again relies on the income from Patreon/SS. To be fully independent from Patreon/SS, well more from that moronic Patreon, is a hard peace of work.

Try to get any VN on Steam from Germany -- and you'll find out that you'll get non that contains any kind on nudity - same goes for GOG.
I know because I tried for multiple Games I liked to buy... for example Leap of Faith by Grifty Games... also no way to get it on Steam from Germany.
So it wasn't that much of a surprise that he even mentioned it - LOL
