I originally took the transparent top as Amber's way of checking that the MC was truly not physically responsive to a beautiful woman.

It literally blows my mind even to this day that in the year of 2024, people still don't know how the internet works. It IS actually FREE.
All you have to do is use your friend google and "download free music" or whatever. It's that simple. Suuuure music is part of the game or any game but you really don't have to throw ridiculous amounts of money on something that MOST people don't really care that much.

Pirating is not free...

And putting music in a game like this AVN is for sure not free, the music you can get free without obsticales is just... meh and its not that much as you maybe think. Listening to music for free is not the same as using it for your game.

If a DEV really cares about the music in his scenes, and it should be good fitting one (so far i dont like oceans music choice, and even that was not free at all) it is a huge boost for the overall quality of the game...

Most games come without any music, the few games with music has more or less the same backgournd tunes, i cant stand them, it causes ear bleeding. So if a DEV wants to use good music, and the music should be a plus for the game, not a minus... no that would not be free. And the games of F95 are not free either, cause again... pirating is not to be considered "free". Nobody around here will claim to be not a "pirate" but its something else to lie in your pocket that its all free. And internet isnt free either... not where i live. I pay my monthly bill, but at least its fast and cheap.

Season 1 - Steam Release Date + Amber therapy changes

Let's get straight to the point... The release date on Steam.

It's on Friday, the 10th of May.
I'm giving the curators 8 more days. Then I will release.
Having Wishlists is very important for the release, and because I didn't have a playable version until last month, I couldn't send the game to curators.
It's already taking effect; yesterday, the game got another 200 wishlists.
SG is still on the lower side, so I'm really trying to get a few more in.


Amber's Therapy.
I previously mentioned that I changed the transparency of Amber's blouse in the therapy scenes. So far, so good... until I started testing more. I disliked quite a bit of the scene before, and it didn't favor Amber's character development.
She was a waaaay too touchy, way too early.
Of course, Amber is a main love interest and will eventually be touchy. But it was too early and had to be redone for the sake of her character.

I mentioned the two DLC Treat packs yesterday.
Besides the Treat packs, there will also be two Soundtrack packs.

With my new contract, I can sell songs as external soundtracks, etc., and I've added the clause that they get 50% of the soundtrack sales.
The industry standard is, I think, 15%, but I want to help underrated music artists. Sadly, Late Kids and I still used the old contract. But if they want to work together again for Season 2, I will get them on Steam for S2.

Good changes for amber... the scene put me off a lot too. First therapy session and she basically throws herself on the MC and gets very touchy... she could even be naked wouldnt change much. And now... we all will wonder, has she still nipplerings?

The new approach is way better, and still, with that cleavage her intentions are totally clear

10 may on steam... so i guess last week may for patreon/ss or first week june. That was a way to long wait... overall 2 months delay just because of steam. Well fuck it, doesnt really matter anyways, cause the wait for the next episode is coming right away but that will be much shorter cause much work was done for the next one already. A huge weight is lifted here from Oceans shoulders... hopefully the sales are as expected or even better. Ill will wait for subscribestar version though.

Yes, although it seems Nika saw Amber for the first time when Bella brought Nika to her house, but I have a feeling that there is some kind of backstory here.

Nika can't be trusted at all, he couldn't even remember that Vic and Maya were Frohns, even after seeing Vic's ID.

With Amber, not everything is so clear; she is clearly keeping silent about many things, for example, about knowing Noji for a long time. Who knows, maybe she knows something about Nika's past, maybe she even was involved in it; maybe he reminds her of someone
Hence the affection for him from the beginning.

Could be a simpler explanation too when its about a Amber Nika connection.

The way Amber greeted Nika at the bookclub (anonymous) kinda mirrored the way Amber greeted Nojiko at her house when she was there with Nika.

So the easiest explanation would be that Nojiko is/was a (former) client of Amber.

Doesnt sound too far fetched if your best friend dies and you have to raise the kids and heavy depression and dramas are involved. In this case it would be logical that Amber has a lot of knowledge about Nika already as Noji would for sure have talked about him in her sessions and Noji doesnt want to reveal it (her attending a therapist)

Maybe Nojiko's sessions were even related to Nika's state which would make it even more reasoanble that she doesnt want Nika to know about it.

Bella probably wouldnt have been able to make the connection even when she saw the clients list as Nojiko has a different surname than Nika.

And about the reminding part: so far his whole behavior is pretty opposite to william, willy escapes into pussy while Nika took the different approach

But what I'm curious of. Do you like anything at all about this game? Well, certain characters, dialogue, maybe some storylines.

Yeah for sure... I'm a very visually oriented dude, so I really love the visuals, mostly... despite everything else, Ocean IS one of the best purely in terms of renders... Uhm, in terms of characters... I remember liking Nami's (at least before the latest model changes I've seen), and the wheelchair girl's (forgot her name) characters & stories quite a bit... I was never a Bella simp tho, and the others were just kinda there, so I don't really recall.

And it's gonna sound stupid, but I really enjoyed the few lewd scenes that were there, I thought they were very good "teases", and they were very erotic (so yeah, losing those for such a stupid reason kinda bums me a lot).

So yeah, anyways, there's a lot to like in there, but utlimately I'm not that interested in the plot or the characters... so once I'm done "reviewing" S1, I'll just forget about the game itself and carry on with it. If there's ever a S2, I'll check it out for science of course, but like I legit don't believe in Ocean at all, so we'll see.

No, no new rework. I think they're just saying they can't wait to see all the reworked scenes in Season 1, as it's the first time we'll have a complete run with no reworked bits.

The difference between playing games with no sound and no music whatsoever and those with appropriate, well-fitting music is like night and day. There was the scene at night with Nika and Bella sitting on a car together, eating and drinking, when I felt was a true turning point for their relationship development. And during that scene, there was a short animated clip where the game played part of a song during the animation called Watching From the Stars by Beza, which you can find on youtube. But the song was just perfect for that scene and it really melted my heart and left a deep impression on me.

In any game or movie, series, any narrative stories, books, whatever, you name it... Of course the overall journey matters but it's key moments like these that truly make them memorable. The points in any narrative that truly resonate with you, for one reason or another, are the ones that you will always remember and leave the biggest impression. And in many cases, I do believe music and sound helps enhance that experience. There are early documentaries on how Disney first employed music and sound effects to help affect or direct how the audience should feel during certain scenes, back in a time when motion pictures had been soundless and without music long, long ago that I remember watching at one point during a film studies class. I wouldn't call it "science" necessarily, but it's a very useful tool for any director and has been for many, many decades in media.

For me, in Summer's Gone, that was one of the most impactful and memorable moments, and when I think about this game, that will always be the very first thing that comes to mind. The music that was chosen during that scene really helped enhance the moment, and I still listen to that song from time to time. And when I do, that scene comes to mind.

In all seriousness I'll probably support Season 2 provided it doesn't take a nosedive and actually includes some sex scenes but Season 1 is a hard pass for me. I do regret not supporting before Ch 3.5 dropped because I actually loved the game back then and it 100% deserved it
