Kinda curious if SG even has the legs to be an AVN without the A. Assuming he's going to bend over backwards to tone the game down so it can be on all platforms without being blacklisted in some areas.

Eh, I'd say SG yes, WIAB no. SG S1 is sold really well as not adult game, because it's a decent dating sim with good renders. So long as he doesn't fuck it up by endless exposition and MAFIA changes, purely dating part would work fairly well. Girls are hot enough and chemisty is there.

Wiab, tho? Fuck no. That game is barely playable with only incest cut, without porn it will be just pure garbage. Writing is shit, characters are mostly shit and it runs on porn logic.

If no 18+ AT ALL it will really be horrible imo..

I don't think anyone will notice tbh. It's not like there will be any sex in it in our lifetime, with the pacing being what it is.

Quick and to the point so I can go back to work.

Usually, I only handle tax stuff and other shitty things like that on Sunday, but I wanna be done with the update so I work today.

I rendered about 320 renders in the past 10 days, some of them are the same render with just the texture being different.

With everything that’s happening to the adult industry: from Steam apparently not allowing early access adult games anymore to the state of Michigan proposing a bill that would ban porn, or anything deemed immoral entirely, I’m gently preparing for a potential worst case.

Sure, those preparations add a bit of render time, but it’s manageable.

I hope, I’ll never need them.

About 260 were new renders and that puts us at around 7890 stills.
Almost 8000, yo.

I’ve also coded the main menu and part of the gallery.

There are still some screens left, but I should be fully done with the main menu and the structure of all additional submenus in the next two weeks.

I also think it will be a little more than 8000 stills… More like 8200 stills.

Steam & USK.
In the last log, I mentioned that Steam will review SG S1 again to determine if it’s suitable to be classified as a non-adult game. It’s currently rated as a weird in-between mix.

It took them about 15 days to get back to me and I think they have reviewed the game and were fine with it (?)
Someone from the escalated legal team contacted me for all the USK documents again, and they are currently reviewing them.
I should get an answer next week and hopefully, even Merkel can then get a copy on Steam.

I have to disappoint you, but it's impossible. If SG turns into an AVN without A, the game will simply die. There are a ton of VNs with even better graphics and plots than Ocean's, but no one needs them. Even the best of them don't bring in much money, and the earnings will be even less than those of SG.

On the other hand, there's AVN, where sex sells better than any script, and top games earn more in a month than Ocean's does in a year. Many people weren't just saying that sex scenes should be added to the game for nothing; without them, the game will lose interest and be abandoned.

Mainly because till now it's always been implied that it would eventually happen. Especially with that splash screen warning that nothing is in the game yet. So I can only assume if it's eventually announced that it'll be maintained the way it is right now (the occasional tiddy) just to be able to stay on steam/gog etc etc then a lot of people would stop supporting.

Personally I know I'd lose all interest in the game if nothing ever happened with the LI other than seeing Nika lay on top of someone with the render cut off from the waist down or god forbid a fade to black transition.

Not to mention a lot of people hated it when the changeroom scene was altered even if it was a render of Nika's junk. It was viewed as a "is this really the direction we're going with the game?"

Back when there was no censorship, I was still a Patreon member, and we were all excited, thinking that after the Steam release, the number of Patreons would skyrocket and Ocean would catch up with DPC. But when we learned about the censorship, all hopes were dashed, and people started unsubscribing. Ocean promised that there would be sex scenes in the second season. Therefore, many have high hopes for the update that is about to be released. If the game doesn't have sex scenes, and instead gets something like "Mafia," it will definitely be a failure.

if you think sex in season 2 is gonna great and a lot.
All you have to do is play his other game and you'll understand
what I mean. I was sub but left after chapter 5 beta.{development was just too long}

I think the game is great and got it on steam to help support it.
But it won't be the lewd scenes that people will buy/support it.
At least not from what I saw in his other game. I hope I'm wrong as it would
really help boost a game I really like.....guess we all will find out in the coming months.

I believe Ocean will be more Cautious than give fans what they want, remember for years everyone has said Ocean will make the game how he sees fit not how we want it to be. So if he feels that giving sex scenes will hurt his sales on Steam or get him banned from a certain platforms then he will make the game 14+ or 16+ and not 18+ it does not matter if we hate the idea or not. Ocean has never been about what fans want it's His vision not ours and I believe that even if the changes to sex and lewds is gone completely there will be those fans that will support him and just go for a dating sim with the occasional kiss here hug there. It seems like Ocean going to complete all renders in October and he already moving into coding which I he can get done in the month as well. There still animation left and testing but I think November realease is possible.
