It has been over 18 months since the last update, so it's tagged according to site rules. Update is supposedly coming in December or January.

It's great knowing the next update is a big one......but C'mon Man.
Ocean is his own worse enemy doing such a big update. His development
time is slow{yeah I'm being nice here
}and it has been 18 months.
Then he's tells us yes I know it's a big update for 1 chapter.......
And now it's been split up to make 3 chapters instead of one.
The man is feeling the heat to finish the second season.
Then the walls come crashing down as he gets the boot from
Patreon......What's next? Only time will tell but I do know that I
won't act surprise if that update takes another 3 months.

I just looked at Ocean last dev log again and it seems like he just flip flopping regarding a universal launch of season 2. On the previous log Ocean said he would not worry about the steam and gog version of the game but when I looked at the dev log for this Sunday he said SS will get season 2 alongside with steam and gog. If it a universal launch then we won't see a release until late January or February of next year since S2 will need to past reviews for both store fronts.

I don't know about theater class but drama got me laid a couple of times till they figured out my motives for joining then banned me eh no big loss but had fun while it lasted!!!

So I'm replaying the game and I'm at the scene where Bella tells Nika he's not allowed to get a motorcycle. The way she just looks at it makes me think maybe her sister being in a coma has some direct ties to a motorcycle. I don't know if it's already been theorized before, but it struck my thoughts a bit.

Look I'm not an Ocean hater, but making an extra long update (and making it 3 chapters long at that) was the wrong move here. After he got the hardware update, he should have focused on making a same length update as his previous ones. Which would have been released in much less time and reassured the patreons, subscribers, and everyone playing that things would change with the new server.
I've been following the dev logs since 3.5 and every time he's mentioned the hardware bottleneck and said that the updates would be done faster if he had better hardware. Well now he has it, and the update time still hasn't changed... of course, it is way bigger in size but the size was never a problem to begin with.
I guess I just don't understand why these chapters just had to be released together, at the expense of the development cycle time.

You crazy? Pre-rework WIAB had way less story progress in those 6 chapters than we have in 4 of the reworked version. Pre-rework WIAB is basically just William coming back, hanging out a bit,going to jail for a stupid reason, going on a date with Leah and then going camping. That's it.
Reworked version dives way deeper into the family dealings and the mafia angle.

And what has happened in the rework?
A MC who was essentially kidnapped by the "mafia" that killed his family so they could marry him off, who escapes the life and finds a girlfriend, ignores his past for 5+ years, only to return because a member of said mafia got hurt. This leads us into having a tour of Wollust, meeting a bunch of his old friends.
Also, those 6 chapters were done in 2 years, with much more branching. We're sitting on 4 chapters, in 4 years, with like 4 choices (Miru gets fingered, Shower with Katie, dryhump Dana(?), and watch some gloryhole action.

SG and now WIAB were always a slow burn. You expected what? That William would waltz into the city and uncover every single secret about the underground dealings and politics of his family that have been going on for maybe decades after he disappeared for 5 years?
He needs to build trust so they can start revealing his dealings to him little by little. And that is fine. It progressed a lot more in the rework than pre-rework. There is the drug traffic of his family that now he is involved in, there is Helen "accident" and her deal with Scarlet, Miru is now working for Leia, there is the deal with the gangs and the motorcycle club his Uncle Joe is part of - that will soon come out of prison -, Leia gave him a tour of her operations in the night club she owns and then, at the end of last chapter, there has been an attack by an unknown entity. There is been a lot of stuff going on but like I said, it's a slow burn, so the resolution of said stuff won't happen as fast as we may want it.
But still, compared to pre-rework WIAB, there is a whole lot more content and plot to develop further.

The plot may be deeper, but it isn't as progressed as the original. Will hasn't even got close to being arrested yet.
If you're still building the foundations of a story after 4 years, that isn't slow burn, that's glacial burn. Absolutely nothing is known about anything or anyone, just constant dismissal of William by everyone. At this pace, we might figure out who got Helen in 10 years time.
As opposed to William getting arrested on a bullshit setup that leads nowhere and has no purpose at all in the old rework?
Still, I agree that the pace is really slow, but that is how Ocean does things and I doubt he will change it. We have a whole Season of SG and still no idea what the actual plot is about aside from curing Nika's impotence so he can finally fuck Bella. Ocean seem to have planned for the games to have like 30 chapters, but it doesn't really sound realistic.
But still, I maintain my opinion that WIAB is leaps ahead in terms of plot and post-rework is also way ahead of pre-rework.

Well it opened up different options for Miru and grew her character.
Right now, Katie refuses to talk to Will, Leia refuses to talk to Will, Helen refuses to talk to everyone.
How much further will the "you left, so you aren't welcome here" be dragged out before you won't tolerate it any longer?
If Will takes the fall for someone, would that redeem him with the Zanes and allleviate the "bullshit setup" from the original? If so, I look forward to seeing it in 5 years.
Katie and Leia relationship with William had quite a bit of development in the most recent update though. I think they are way past the "you left, so you aren't welcome here" phase. Katie still holds a grudge but is opening up more and are way past the "enemies" phase and Leia is sharing information and trusting him more. It's not a huge development, but its still progress.
The aggravating factor is the development time. If the development time wasn't so insanely long, the pacing would be fine. But since we wait years and years for a single update, the pacing seem really slow when we finally get it, because we expect it to be comparable to the time it took for it to be released. But it won't ever be.
