No it isn't. SG is the sequel/continuation. Pedantic maybe but let's get it right. WIAB was also released before SG too.
I was trying to sum it up to someone who had just discovered the game(s).
no need to go into specifics.
there are still story beats about the Zanes/Petrovas/Reveras in both games. doesn't go further than that. William is alluded to in SG . ("team getting backshots from him ") and you see Katie Zane in SG
It's a prequel . whether it's related or not is irrelevant. it's about "stuff that happened before ", with "some of the people that you see in SG that you vaguely hear about".

not even sure WIAB is in Wollust. can't remember. anyway. didn't wanna write an essay about how it can technically be defined as a prequel in an f95 comment to just suggest the other game to someone.
I'm not even sure I played WIAB's latest update to be fair. bought it on steam but haven't touched it in a year and a half.

Here we go again.

Ocean isn't making enough money to wallow around. Life is expensive if you are paying for everything (food, shelter, utilities, transportation, etc.) all on your own instead of living in mommy's basement and leeching off her, especially in an expensive and high-tax country like Germany.

Can Ocean work better and come out with more content quicker? Highly likely, especially if he can drop his perfectionist attitude.

Is Ocean making a lot of money? Absolutely not.
I thought this race was extinct here, but it looks like it will take more than SG to delay for a few more years, then who knows, maybe they'll wake up/be annihilated here.

That's a shame. Game has mostly positive reviews, it's a waste if the dev abandons it.
The dev hasn't abandoned anything. On the contrary, he is prepping for the release of the first chapters of season 2 (last I remember was 4 chapters), containing over 8000 static full frame 4K renders (already rendered) and a bunch (not sure how many) of cinematic animations.
No one knows exactly when it might happen though. Happens when it's ready, possibly February. We'll know more when the next devlog drops on Sunday or Monday.

That's assuming focusing on a single game every day would not cause a mental burnout.

And I know you weren't around back then, but Ocean literally told us right here that it would indeed cause a burnout and that's why he's rotating between 2 games.

Take that as the truth. Or take that as an excuse. That's up to you. But I do know some people that works better if they aren't focusing on just one project.
Tbh that sounds weird. When you burnout from work, do you take second job? No, you go to the gym, have a walk, sleep or whatever. Second job is just adding stress

Honestly, as someone with ADHD who has also has the unfortunate downside of being unable to work under 60 hours a week and keep my sanity, I get it. When I was burning out from work, while I didn't take a second job, I decided to add to that by going and getting another grad degree while working resulting in about 70 hour weeks which is my sweet spot. So I can sympathize at least towards the multiple projects avoiding burnout. The introduction of novelty can go a pretty long way towards preventing burnout even when increasing hours/stress for some people.

99% devs are burnout, only mr.untouchable fanboy favorite found secret method to work on two games at a time to avoid burnout. :D spam updates about how he invested 3 months into blender to make boobs jiggle a little bit. oh yeah
I remember last year , he got all excited
losing half a month animating zara with a little dance in animated gif .
I mean yeah the movement was flawless , almost close to mocap but still, It was absolutely pointless

stop projecting your neurodivergence. the internet is what it is today because of that .

also I'm not gonna give a dev a pass because he's neurodivergent. fuck that . take your meds and deliver your shit on time . I may not be shilling on his patreon anymore, but when I did, whether he was adhd or not was definitely irrelevant to me. and has no bearing in his inability to deliver in my mind.

I don't entirely disagree it sounds weird. But some people are wired differently. The "gym, walk, sleep, whatever" for Ocean is actually just thinking about and working on a different project.

The point is, whatever takes your mind off the cause of burnout, be it an entirely different activity, or just simply working on a similar but separate project.

I saw this just a few mins ago on Google.......and man did I bust up :ROFLMAO:

Yes, Summer's Gone - Season 2 (titled Constellations) is planned and has started dropping in Early Access chapters on Steam, with Chapter 1 releasing in late 2024/early 2025 after delays, though the full release is years away as it's a massive solo project with multiple chapters per season, with the developer continuing work on subsequent chapters despite earlier setbacks like SSD failure.

I was simply stating that people can prevent burnout differently. Ocean's constant misses on target deadlines is something I also have a problem with which is why I don't support monthly and only buy on release. I wasn't defending the rest of the many poor choices and constant complaints about taxes he has made.
